Curb Appeal 14 Report post Posted June 6, 2011 (edited) My old unloader (blue spring YU831) finally went out after 4 years so I ordered a new one. They have evidently changed the design since my last one. The new one is smaller and the ports are in different places. The "IN" port is now on the bottom under the spring instead of horizontally inline and opposite of the "OUT" port. My question is: Can I mount the unloader with the spring horizontal so I don't have to use more plumbing than neccessary? Thanks, Edited June 6, 2011 by Curb Appeal
Curb Appeal 14 Report post Posted June 14, 2011 Update. Just an FYI: it works fine with the spring mounted horizontal...
RSuds 24 Report post Posted June 14, 2011 You can do it any way you want.
Jerry 24 Report post Posted June 15, 2011 just be careful of "suspended weight" on the fittings, and the "length of the lever".. Using a forged steel "hex nipple" is substantially beefier to the "suspended weight". Don't cut corners on abuseability, NEVERY use brass fittings foe suspended weight like an unloader. and you don't have to worry about reliability. Eh? Your local service center is "supposed to" be able to answer these questions for you.
