Chappy 138 Report post Posted July 30, 2012 I have had a run on bad batterys for my spray cart for over 18 months now that just doesnt seem to want to come to an end. I bought NAPA marine batteries for years. all of a sudden beginning in 2011, they started to crap out. sometimes 2-3 months, sometimes 1 month. I go to recharge them and get a "bad internal cell" warning. They finally said they werent going to exchange them anymore so I went to Sams club. The Duracell marine batteries seem to be no better and I need to exchange the 2nd one in 4 months. Any one have similar problems? Again this is on a spray cart so no charging system. apsurfacesolutions 17 Report post Posted July 30, 2012 Still running the same battery in its third season. Early in the year it wouldn't charge so I bought a charger with a deep cell setting. Haven't had any problems since.
Thad 135 Report post Posted July 30, 2012 How are you charging them?
Chappy 138 Report post Posted August 3, 2012 so I think I figured out the problem here. the last batteries I had that were marine starting battery is not deep cell cycle batteries. I don't know what the batteries I had from napa were, but I probably went in 1 day and said I need a marine battery and that's what they handed me, an MS, and I've had trouble ever since. I just never looked to see the difference. so hopefully problem solved? We'll see...
Thad 135 Report post Posted August 4, 2012 That would do it. Also, make sure you charge them at 2 amps.
