Questions about residential flat work

Question

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Joe Lindsey and I own The House Doctor of Houston in Houston Texas. I have been in business here for going on 36 years. We are a full service home improvement company. We do a lot of painting especially exterior painting. I bought my first pressure washer about 25 years ago to do our exterior work. When we paint the outside of a house we always clean driveways sidewalks and decks. Lately we have been getting a lot of calls to clean driveways in subdivisions for homeowners that are receiving letters from their H.O.A.s I do have several surface cleaners which makes quick work of the job. What I have learned is out of all the services I provide surface cleaning has several advantages. It's quick, easy, very little or no liability, and it is easy to hold your hand out to get paid when you are finished because there is such a drastic difference in the job before and after. Now that I am in my upper 50s it's a lot easier on me than anything else I do. My question is what is the going rate for residential flat work in my area. I don't want to be too cheap. Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to give me any advise.

Hey Joe and welcome!

Really depends on the situation. Moldy, dirty is one price. Degreasing different price. Rust removal another price.

Some guys charge $.10 per sq. ft. My price is much higher and a minimum charge for any job we do.
