I will be cleaning and sealing a deck soon with a handrail that has tree sap coming out around some of the knotholes. If I remove the sap from the surface during the cleaning process, and then apply an oil based sealer, will the sap continue to work its way out of the wood? I have never dealt with this situation before. Maybe replacing the board would be the best solution. Any suggestions? Thank you
