GymRat 14 Report post Posted March 6, 2005 I have a 55 gallon drum of sodium hypochlorite and a 55 gallon drum of my house cleaning detergent that I transfer to 5 gallon containers via a lutz pump. I have to switch the pump from drum to drum to acomplish this. I have to buy something else to make this less of a hassle. Wanted to know what is everyones favorite pump or transfer equipment for 55gallon drums?
seymore 90 Report post Posted March 6, 2005 I use these 55 gall drum trucks/dollies they are a lot better than these siphon pumps i used use.The bleach will dry the plastic hoses up and cause them to leak. They have a strap that goes around the drum to hold it in place. You can get these at Grainger for $200 http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/productdetail.jsp?xi=xi&ItemId=1613503703&ccitem=
GymRat 14 Report post Posted March 6, 2005 Thanks Seymore, Do you just add one of those nylon spigots to the bung?
Beth n Rod 1,279 Report post Posted March 6, 2005 I picked up a drum pump from grainger too. 25 bucks and it comes with all you need. No rubber spigot, but a stainless probe that goes to the bottom. They are sized by the stroke and how much you get out with each stroke. Mine is 14-16oz/stroke. Rod~
