VanDiesel99 14 Report post Posted June 15, 2005 Looking to modify my engine exhaust so that it will go straight up instead of out the side(16hp Vanguard). I have seen some pics of this type of setup in the past but was curious what type of piping and fittings/methods were used to fasten to the muffler. Any help is appreciated! Russ Johnson 141 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 Your HydroTek? They make a stainless pipe to deflect the exhaust when they mount them on trailers with water tanks.
VanDiesel99 14 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 Sweet, do you have pics or a link? It sounds like it may do it. That is the specific reason I want to modify the current exhaust. Thanks Russ
Russ Johnson 141 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 You can't see it but there is an elbow on the muffler to blow exhaust up away from the tank. I looked at the parts breakdown, but it's not listed. I'll call them later.
R L S 14 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 I just took a 90deg Copper elbow in the right diameter and used a self tapping screw to screw it in to the exhaust pipe works great. Richard
