Exactly What Do You Want!

Question

Has this happened to any of you? I really screwed myself on this one. I went to do an estimate on a house wash and deck job this afternoon. I get to the door and a 30 something blond answeres with a blouse unbuttoned WAY too far and cutoff jeans. She was sure to let me know she is single and really needs help around the house. I'm really trying to concentrate on my measuring, she's helping.

Long story short. As I hand her the estimate I'm thinking to myself this looks too low. I made about a $200.00 mistake in her favor.

I guess she got what she was after anyway!

Thanks,

Bob Warfield

Remember the old adage: "If the customer helps, the price is double."

Also for your punishment, you must make the same mistake on a senior citizen's estimate.

In new construction cleaning we only get to see dirty old men (literally). In residential, 75% of the time the customer is not there when I take measurements or survey the project. 90% of the time my customers are male, the other 10% of the time the customer is usually over 50. On my last estimate, I dealt with the butler.

My weakness is senior citizens and retired military - I tend to break even on most of those jobs.

Bob you say she was helping you measure, sounds to me you were measuring the WRONG THING, you should have been measuring HER:D

Oh well perhaps you need to go back and remeasure that job.

where was the digi cam when you REALLY needed it?

Seem's your going to be useing a whole nother brand of stripper for this deck.

Dont even want to know what kind of sealer your going to use.

Better use thompsons, that way you can go back every 2 month's.

Looks like he has been busy on THAT job for two days, no reply yet from him.

When do we call out the national guard to search for that house?

Guys Guys, I'm getting way too old for that kind of foolishness. Actually she called today and gave us the job. She was impressed with my presentation. No Really! She said the other people she talked to said they could clean the deck with "hot water and lots of pressure".

Seriously I am going to have my 28 year old, single son help on this one.

Thanks,

Bob Warfield

Bob help do what on THIS ONE?

I never knew there was an age when "your to old"

My outlook on age is it is only a number, it does not make the person.

Ok so I am a recycled teenager, can I help it?

On a more serious side congrats on landing the job, just be sure you helper pays attention to the job at hand and not the BOSS who hired you!

Bet she comes out to watch dressed to kill as she did when you showed up to estimate her, er I mean the job.
