grizzley 14 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 One of my pressure washers is a Craftsman 7 HP 2900 PSI (cold water). I do not use it very often, but when I do, I hook it up to hot water; usually around 120* - 140*. After doing this a few times, the pump is blowing oil out of it. I am going to hazzard a guesss that the hot water has displaced a seal or something which kept the oil inside. First, am I right? Second, is there some type of warm water cup I can add to this washer to allow the use of warm/hot water though it?

grizzley 14 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 Is there some type of hot water / warm water adapter? I don't want this thread to turn into "WHY ARE YOU..." but, why does it matter if I would hook up to somones hot water?
Russ Johnson 141 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 You can't run hot water through any pump that isn't modified for it. General and AR offer hot packing and valve kits for certain pumps in the line.
Larry B 55 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 I learned this the hard way as well. Many years ago I washed the trucks at a meat packing plant. They had real nice free hot water so I filled my tank with it, after a few weeks the pumps started to fail.
