bad pool deck

Recommended Posts

will post after shots soon. This deck was about 1000 sf of total restoration. it was ground, cracks ground and repaired and their was also a couple of places that the concrete was patched on. It was done for a pool contractor. We did the deck and he did the inside. I am waiting on the afters(he is not finished).

I did use the pressure washer to wash away all the dust from grinding. On this one we used multicoat products "krete kote" & acrethane color sealer. you can check them out at www.multicoatproducts.com at my regular job we sell all different types of coatings and conrete repair products. So naturally I have started doing some of this type work along with the pressure washing.

Jim-

Look forward to seeing the afters. My partner has a grinder that we hook up to a vac system to suck up the particles. It looks like that old coating was just waiting to come up. Murphy's law always says different though..

We have a job waiting for approval that will require removal of 1/4" thick material that was improperly installed about 5 years ago. Grinding is kind of a pain but xtra $$.

Let's see those pics!

some areas popped up really easy and others took a while. we used a 12" scarifier and a 24" scarifier. I know you can rent the smaller scarifiers from places like sunbelt. They work really well for coatings like this. However, you still have to use a hand grinder to go around edges that are walled or fenced. Craig check out www.worldofconcrete.com it has a list of suppliers for just about everything dealing with coatings for concrete.

this is part of the deck after it was washed. It looks like we may end up putting a colorseal on it. The hoa picked the color, and now they think it is too dark. To make the customer happy we will put a colorseal (similar to paint). The original plan was to seal the deck with a clear sealer. which would look a lot like what you see in this picture. the light spots that you see is where it is starting to dry. this was sprayed and then knocked down with a trowel.

I will post more pic's monday after we finish.
