Window Guy 14 Report post Posted March 1, 2006 Does anyone worry about breaking the seals in this type of window??Even the pressure used to wash and squeegee the window could break the seals.
aquabob 14 Report post Posted March 13, 2006 too hot water can damage the seals, and if you damage them you could be liable and have to replace all of the windows. too much pressure could also damage them. i had a window job h.o. called and said she had her house pwed and now all of her windows were foggy, he used hot water. i told her she would have to replace all of her windows, she wasnt very happy. I've had customers tell me the same thing about the last guy who cleaned their house, blew out all the seals in their insulated windows. I never rinse thermo pane windows with more pressure than a soap tip, and even then I'm very cautious.
