DustinC 64 Report post Posted March 12, 2006 Anyone know if this would be the right cleaner for a roof? It's 12.5% bleach. http://www.iaprisonind.com/html/prodcat/chemclean2.asp?ProdLineID=403 Also, how do you use/mix pool shock to clean roofs?
big mike 14 Report post Posted March 12, 2006 OK, first of all, their website says it only sells to government entities, and non-profits. I'm doubting that you're non-profit right? Anyway, the pool shock is just plain old sodium hypochlorite, but usually around 10.5%. I use it quite a bit since I don't have a chlorine supplier real close by. The stuff I use is in liquid form, not the granulated stuff. Do a search, you'll find tons of useful info in the "up on the roof" threads.
Washaway 64 Report post Posted March 12, 2006 If pool shock is the same as Yellow Out then don't bother mixing 12.5% with it b/c you're just wasting your money. Yellow Out eats up chlorine and that is why you have to add chlorine to your pool after throwing in a bag of that stuff. Just a heads up!
