0 Jonathan Chiplock 14 Report post Posted April 5, 2006 It depends on what kind, there is wood that is just dipped in treatment which only lasts a few years and then the stuff that is pressure treated goes clear through the wood, lasts a very long time. Although it is coated, stain or sealant still has to be applied to the wood each time it is cleaned and it should be cleaned and stained soon after it is built. 0 JFife 14 Report post Posted April 5, 2006 if just mill glaze will come off with a light chem wash, but if it is a true Thompsonized or Wolmanized lumber, you may as well let it sit a couple yrs or do a light strip, Just washed some on a deck, 5yrs old, still was on the wood you could tell.
