Sewer Jetting Hose...

Question

I was thinking of running 1/4"...that is opening of my gun. I am using a 3500 4.5 cold water partable. I am thinking that there will be a considerable difference in weight. It is to go on my portable hose cart, posted pics last season. I usually x-jet from the top of my little giant ladder and have to get on some roofs, I think it will reduce the weight of the hose pulling down when I am going up.... Any thought?

If you run 1/4" rather than 3/8" hose, you will lose about 500 psi per 100 feet with 4.5 gpm. Using 3/8" hose, you lose about 100 psi per 100'.

You could run 3/8" most of the way and just take 50 feet or so of 1/4" up top to help save some loss.

That is a large loss in pressure. I knew what it was for the 3/8" hose, but that is pretty high for the 1/4". I did think about using it for the last 50 or 75 feet I am only carting around 150 on my portable hose reel. Thanks for the feedback.
