20:08:01 [Message] davidv : Have a guy who wants me to remove latex from 2 decks

20:08:05 [Message] Rod : great.

20:09:09 [Message] Littlefield : Hello, anyone chatting

20:09:09 [Message] Russell_C : Welcome Rich

20:09:17 [Message] Littlefield : There you all are!

20:09:41 [Message] Russell_C : David is looking for a solution for romoving laytex stain from a couple decks

20:09:49 [Message] Littlefield : David, don't recognize your name.

20:09:59 [Message] Rod : davidv: gotta match???

20:10:00 [Message] bethnrod : Hi Rich!

20:10:03 [Message] Littlefield : Doradostrip, no problem

20:10:24 [Message] Rod : JK, what brand latex was it?

20:10:24 [Message] davidv : Thanks

20:10:26 [Message] Littlefield : Spray on at night, leave till next morning, remove with wet vac

20:10:55 [Message] Littlefield : Product will cost you a buck a foot. Are you comfortable with an airless?

20:10:58 [Message] Rod : Never heard o fit Rich, whose product is that?

20:11:10 [Message] davidv : no

20:11:33 [Message] Littlefield : Rod, DoradoChem. It works so good, everytime they go to hit mainstream, someone else private labels it.

20:11:57 [Message] Littlefield : DAvid, that is the best way to apply. Where are you located, near GA

20:12:05 [Message] Littlefield : Near GA?

20:12:14 [Message] davidv : rod lol i finally got it

20:12:21 [Message] Rod : Russ's product should be able to handle it with a little additive, Russ, do you have any input here?

20:12:41 [Message] davidv : I'm from ohio

20:12:48 [Message] Russell_C : Hd-80 with the boost would work

20:13:07 [Message] Littlefield : Much cheaper too.

20:13:16 [Message] davidv : what kind of boost

20:13:19 [Message] Littlefield : I was thinking acrylic, not latex

20:13:55 [Message] Russell_C : I would try straight HD-80 first

20:14:06 [Message] davidv : O.K.

20:14:14 [Message] Russell_C : You probably wouldn't even need to boost it

20:14:28 [Message] Rod : Acrylic's are the boon to wood restoration, I'll tell you right now, get ready for more stuff with it in it.

20:15:44 [Message] Russell_C : Have you been seeing more in the North East?

20:15:50 [Message] bethnrod : Yes!

20:16:08 [Message] Littlefield : ARe they the boon or the bane, Rod?

20:16:56 [Message] Rod : Hey Russ, been seeing more decks lately with tree sap/pitch whatever you want to call it. after stripping, do you have any suggestions to help get more out of the wood?

20:17:21 [Message] Russell_C : Welcome Barry

20:17:22 [Message] davidv : He also has a dock with sitting area...would it be o.k. for the fish

20:17:29 [Message] BarryM : sup guys

20:17:30 [Message] davidv : Hey BRO

20:17:35 [Message] Russell_C : Rod, is it concentrated or is it in veins?

20:17:36 [Message] BarryM : you too David

20:17:54 [Message] davidv : lol

20:18:00 [Message] Littlefield : Ha, Rod has tree sap in his veins...

20:18:14 [Message] Rod : It is widespread. Like someone took and spread it around all under where the tree overhangs the deck.

20:18:20 [Message] bethnrod : Rod is just a big sweet sap! :)

20:18:35 [Message] Rod : not tree sap, Dr. Pepper!!!

20:18:42 [Message] Littlefield : Rod's been sleeping on the job.

20:18:49 [Message] bethnrod : we have seen sap come off of dripping pine cones too

20:18:59 [Message] Rod : Caught again.

20:19:03 [Message] Rod : dang it

20:19:11 [Message] Rod : tattle tail..

20:19:11 [Message] bethnrod : Hi Barry!1

20:19:15 [Message] BarryM : David r u just lurking?

20:19:19 [Message] davidv : Barry was that HD-80 we used on those decks

20:19:19 [Message] BarryM : hey rod

20:19:31 [Message] Rod : hey barry

20:19:32 [Message] BarryM : no..........Timberstrip

20:19:54 [Message] BarryM : hey is Beth here too

20:20:21 [Message] Rod : I think david is waiting for more feedback on stripping latex

20:20:32 [Message] BarryM : urrrrrrgghhh

20:20:38 [Message] Rod : Yep , she is.

20:20:44 [Message] BarryM : hi Beth

20:21:03 [Message] Littlefield : I like to coat with stripper, cover with .3 mil plastic, and let sit a while.

20:21:06 [Message] Russell_C : David, do you know how many coats you are dealing with?

20:21:22 [Message] davidv : 2 or 3

20:21:42 [Message] Russell_C : I'm with Rich, wait a good 45 min or more

20:21:46 [Message] BarryM : LF does that just keep it wet, so you don't have to keep applying chems?

20:21:58 [Message] Littlefield : It's irritating to keep re-applying the stripper. I'd rather fuzz the wood up, then buff it off quickly, and apply copious amounts of stain to the (now) absorbent wood.

20:22:32 [Message] Littlefield : Yes, wetter is better. Go drink a coke, or beer if you're a painter.

20:22:47 [Message] Rod : I find we always need to defur the deck after stripping anyway so I let the stripper dwell as long as needed.

20:22:54 [Message] Russell_C : Agitating with a brush will also speed the process up

20:22:56 [Message] Littlefield : Bingo

20:23:13 [Message] Littlefield : Bingo to brushing and dwelling and buffing.

20:23:24 [Message] davidv : Great

20:23:37 [Message] Russell_C : When you are dealing with multiple layers, you can often seperate them with agitation rather than waiting for them to fully emulsify

20:23:49 [Message] BarryM : hey David use your dirt killer......lol

20:23:51 [Message] Littlefield : Less labor cost to figure the buffing than try to get the timing exact on a latex or acrylic.

20:24:11 [user Status] Rod -> Away

20:24:36 [Message] Littlefield : And with the brush, you're not getting rid of the stripper like with a presure washer just to find out it's not coming up yet.

20:24:41 [Message] davidv : these are up and down decks

20:24:59 [Message] Littlefield : Two stories?

20:25:08 [Message] davidv : just keep bottom one wet

20:25:14 [Message] davidv : yes

20:26:09 [Message] Russell_C : David, that would depend on the total square footage and if you are going to be able to complete them both in the same day

20:26:42 [Message] davidv : I should be able to. there 16x32

20:26:53 [Message] Littlefield : The product I use on these things is very expensive materials wise, but very cheap on labor. I still think there may be an application for a gel here. The larger the project, the more sequencing comes in to play.

20:26:53 [Message] BarryM : what do you guys defur with, what tool? I have some of those old defurring pads that BethnRod used to sell and I put them on my cordless drill but its a pain.

20:27:10 [Message] Russell_C : Once the chemical has worked, the rinsing off doesn't take very long. Slather them both up at the same time.

20:27:18 [Message] Littlefield : On defurring, makita 9227c with an osborne brush, not pad.

20:27:46 [Message] Littlefield : This time of year, keeping them wet shouldn't be too hard I guess.

20:27:49 [Message] davidv : great...i had thought about that

20:28:09 [Message] Russell_C : Rich, how did you like working with the hang time to slow drying?

20:28:10 [Message] davidv : It'll be late spring

20:28:12 [Message] Littlefield : I was concerned most with the railing system as far as wetting and keeping wet.

20:28:29 [Message] Russell_C : Welcome Aspen

20:28:34 [Message] aspen contractors : Thank you

20:28:40 [Message] davidv : railing on top deck only

20:29:12 [Message] Littlefield : It does work, to slow drying. Just don't add too much. WE turned one 5 gallon pail into jello.

20:29:20 [Message] Rod : If the lower deck is below the upper and gives it a great deal of shade, the lower one will be your greates challenge.

20:29:43 [Message] Rod : oof greatest

20:29:45 [Message] davidv : that's it exactly

20:29:47 [Message] Littlefield : Adding water and mixing just gives you chunks in water.

20:30:03 [Message] Rod : paint strainer will help

20:30:13 [Message] Russell_C : Rich, thats why I don't push that pruduct much. It can be tought to get the hang of

20:30:17 [Message] Littlefield : Aspen, are you from colorado? Jst guessing

20:30:29 [Message] Littlefield : DEck guy or log homes?

20:30:36 [Message] aspen contractors : no wife was from there. we actually reside in maryland

20:30:36 [Message] davidv : bottom has a hot tub on it

20:30:47 [Message] aspen contractors : learning the deck ropes

20:30:49 [Message] Littlefield : Like the name

20:31:01 [Message] aspen contractors : thank you

20:31:14 [Message] Rod : russ, I have tried adding a foaming agent to hd-80 and it acts like a thickener but with the effect of making it keep from drying so fast and it clings better.

20:31:43 [Message] Rod : Where in Maryland?

20:31:49 [Message] aspen contractors : aberdeen

20:31:52 [Message] Russell_C : There are several foamers that you can add once it is in a liqud solution that will work

20:31:54 [Message] aspen contractors : northeast

20:31:54 [Message] Littlefield : Anyone try using one of the Stuttner guns to really get the foam going like the Kec guys?

20:32:09 [Message] Rod : anyone in particular that you suggest?

20:32:20 [Message] bethnrod : Hi Rob!!!

20:32:23 [Message] Russell_C : You have to be careful not to get ahold of one with the wrong surfactant type or you will find yourself rinsing forever.

20:32:26 [Message] aspen contractors : hey beth

20:32:30 [Message] Littlefield : I guess Matt Bryan would be the one to ask

20:32:43 [Message] Rod : noted!

20:33:07 [Message] BarryM : Does anyone DS their stripper?

20:33:26 [Message] Russell_C : We make a stripper designed to be downstreamed

20:33:36 [Message] Littlefield : Talking to a guy today that has a blasting media that is microbialcidal, is that a word?

20:33:37 [Message] Russell_C : it is safer than DS something like HD-80

20:33:38 [Message] Rod : no, we use a pumptec sprayer for all stripping applications

20:34:04 [Message] Rod : you mean antimicrobial?

20:34:20 [Message] Russell_C : He means they soak the cob in enzymes

20:34:34 [Message] aspen contractors : rod od is pumptec and certain kind?

20:34:34 [Message] Littlefield : Its proprietary, but I'll keep you guys posted, he's supposed to be releasing it soon.

20:34:47 [Message] Russell_C : or they've empregnated it with an anti-microbial

20:34:49 [Message] Littlefield : Rod, thats right, and Russ, I don't think its cob.

20:35:01 [Message] Littlefield : I'm thinking bakin soda with extras

20:35:11 [Message] Rod : the decker 5'er. We have the cart version and the pump set up only versions.

20:35:24 [Message] Russell_C : I have seen that done with blasting media for dams and hydro electric plants

20:35:49 [Message] BarryM : David u need to come over for some more deck lessons?

20:35:50 [Message] Littlefield : baking soda is used for mold remediation

20:36:08 [Message] Russell_C : they will use cob in those cases because it ois much easier to recover

20:37:08 [Message] Russell_C : Rich I spoke to someone from your neck of the woods today

20:37:09 [Message] davidv : Why more honeydo lists lol

20:37:23 [Message] Littlefield : Boil the water, and you have quick made grits, right?

20:37:37 [Message] Russell_C : They were talking about cob blasting a house

20:37:39 [Message] Rod : davidv ????

20:37:44 [Message] BarryM : I got 12 to do this spring

20:37:45 [Message] Littlefield : Russ, really?

20:37:51 [Message] Russell_C : yes

20:38:33 [Message] Russell_C : You are in/near Ellijay right?

20:38:37 [Message] davidv : did Barry's honey do list on my labor 4 learning

20:38:40 [Message] Littlefield : I'd offer to help, but I've got two going right now.

20:39:03 [Message] Littlefield : yeah, right in Ellijay, r u serious?

20:39:12 [Message] Littlefield : or is it me?

20:39:15 [Message] Russell_C : Well sure

20:39:22 [Message] Russell_C : no, it's not you

20:39:43 [Message] Littlefield : If they aren't cheap, I don';t mind...

20:39:59 [Message] davidv : Maybe, Barry we'll see

20:40:26 [Message] Littlefield : Are they new in the biz? Shoot me an email I'll see if I know them. Rare if I don't. I try to keep up.

20:40:56 [Message] BarryM : I know you'll be busy too, just would be cool to hook up again.

20:41:09 [Message] Russell_C : Rich, I'm sure you know of them

20:41:12 [Message] davidv : No doubt

20:41:31 [Message] Rod : david must have done well in helping Barry with his honey doo list!

20:41:32 [Message] bethnrod : Is that the one in GA I sent to you today Russ?

20:41:53 [Message] bethnrod : Someone in GA called looking for HD today

20:42:00 [Message] Russell_C : Yes, the woman did mention your name

20:42:09 [Message] BarryM : anyone here use an airless for sealing? If so what brand do u like

20:42:20 [Message] bethnrod : If it is for logs send her back!!!

20:42:44 [Message] Rod : I have a wagner 3500psi, actually, 2 of them

20:42:57 [Message] Rod : I use it for applying solid stainds.

20:43:04 [Join Room] CarolinaProWash

20:43:08 [Message] aspen contractors : Barry i have used an wagner HVLP on lattice

20:43:22 [Message] bethnrod : Well it's about time woman!

20:43:34 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Sorry

20:43:40 [Message] Littlefield : Fashionably late.

20:43:47 [Message] bethnrod : Isn't she?

20:43:50 [Message] Russell_C : Welcome Celeste

20:44:23 [Message] BarryM : I was looking at a Titian 440I today, pretty nice.

20:44:28 [Message] Rod : Hey Celeste, tell Roger to put down the remote and get on the keys, ya lazy dog! :)

20:44:40 [Message] Littlefield : I love my Titan 440I

20:44:46 [Message] CarolinaProWash : We have a 440I - but it's collecting dust :)

20:44:55 [Message] Littlefield : when its not in the shop

20:44:59 [Message] Littlefield : J/K

20:45:13 [Message] Littlefield : First one I had 4 years before packings went

20:45:32 [Message] Littlefield : Celeste, take it off your hands?

20:45:58 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Not quite yet......I think we'll still find some use for it.

20:46:15 [Message] BarryM : brb

20:46:31 [Message] Littlefield : Darn, last week someting on the circuit board went on mine, a first for me.

20:47:03 [Message] Russell_C : I hear the old paint pots are making a comeback

20:47:19 [Message] Littlefield : Same week, my high boy lost a seal, and deckster pump went out, driving me nuts

20:47:28 [Message] Littlefield : Russ, hvlp?

20:47:44 [Message] Russell_C : Yeah, but the old schllo type

20:47:46 [Message] Littlefield : Got a 2.5 gallon pot, now THATS gathering dust.

20:47:52 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Roger hasn't played with his deckster in a while either.....the Deck Beast is handling everything :)

20:47:53 [Message] Rod : this year has been the year of breakdowns and equipment repairs.

20:48:14 [Message] Littlefield : Nothing I could do with that that I can't do with an airless and a fine finish tip faster.

20:48:59 [Message] Russell_C : I will take that argumet

20:49:00 [Message] aspen contractors : How does everyone apply sealer? I know that kind of sounds stupid but curious

20:49:00 [Message] CarolinaProWash : BRB - need to help Rog get logged in :)

20:49:42 [Message] Littlefield : Russ, agree or not?

20:50:01 [Message] Russell_C : I would be willing to argue with you on that point

20:50:25 [Message] Rod : decker by pumptec is what we apply with. follow up with a stain pad for uniformity .

20:50:41 [Message] Roger : Hi all

20:50:42 [Message] Littlefield : I've sprayed doors, trim, decks, polyurethane, paint, and still, a 209 in my airless is less overspray, and more volume.

20:50:54 [Message] Rod : oh s***T, he logged in....uh, hey Roger, uh what's up?

20:51:03 [Message] Russell_C : I am thinking specificly for staining homes

20:51:11 [Message] Roger : Not much

20:51:18 [Message] Russell_C : Welcome Roger

20:51:19 [Message] Littlefield : Too slow,

20:51:37 [Message] CarolinaProWash : I know our staining set up went considerably faster than applying with the deckster

20:51:48 [Message] Littlefield : unless you're using something different than what I used.

20:52:05 [Message] Littlefield : It was hurry up and wait all day long

20:52:10 [Message] Roger : Well Russell what about the stain rig we used

20:52:18 [Message] Russell_C : I can honestly say, I have never seen anything stain faster than Rogers set up

20:52:27 [Message] Rod : what is that ???

20:52:35 [Join Room] bigchaz

20:52:36 [Message] Roger : the wood beast

20:52:39 [Message] CarolinaProWash : It's the Wood Beast!!!!

20:52:49 [Message] Rod : who makes it?

20:52:52 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Roger

20:52:56 [Message] Rod : out of?>

20:52:57 [Message] Littlefield : I'll agree, and I haven't seen it in action, just sitting still it looks fast

20:53:00 [Message] Russell_C : I don't think you could apply stain any faster

20:53:21 [Message] Rod : hello bigchaz

20:53:25 [Message] Littlefield : Its a stain pumping pressure washer type thingy

20:53:28 [Message] bigchaz : Howdy

20:53:31 [Message] Roger : Rod I will show you the beast when you come down

20:53:33 [Message] Rod : lol

20:53:54 [Message] Russell_C : Roger really took it to the next level with that design

20:54:05 [Message] Roger : thanks

20:54:05 [Message] Rod : ok, are you going to start manufacturing them and putting 666 on them??? lol

20:54:10 [Message] Russell_C : It's not for the faint of heart though

20:54:39 [Message] Rod : that's funny

20:54:43 [Message] CarolinaProWash : The washer end of it ain't too shabby either :)

20:55:13 [Message] Roger : Not 666, maybe a Tazmanian Devil with a staining gun in its hand

20:55:16 [Message] Russell_C : Yeah, but I have seen bigger, stronger, faster washers

20:55:48 [Message] Littlefield : With that soft touch , though, Russ?

20:56:02 [Message] Russell_C : I about had a heart attach when i did the math on the machine he was building. Then to see it in action was awsome.

20:56:11 [Message] CarolinaProWash : :)

20:56:22 [Message] aspen contractors : must be really impressive

20:56:26 [Message] Littlefield : Rog got done lat year what I was supposed to get built.

20:56:43 [Message] Littlefield : Go ahead, Roger brag a little.

20:56:54 [Message] Roger : It's not pretty but it works well

20:57:10 [Message] Littlefield : I like just thinking about waht people look like while thinking of it.

20:57:18 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Not pretty is the understatement of the year!

20:57:23 [Message] Roger : lol

20:57:26 [Message] Russell_C : I watched a two story wall about 30 foot wide get stained in record time

20:58:06 [Message] Russell_C : While holding a camera and laughing my butt off

20:58:25 [Message] CarolinaProWash : You never held that camera....the tripod did! LOL

20:58:42 [Message] Russell_C : Well, I leaned on it and looked real cool

21:54:56 [Message] Russell_C : I might catch the *****

21:55:23 [Message] CarolinaProWash : There's no info anywhere - they're not even listed as exhibitors for NADRA/Deck Expo

21:55:36 [Message] aspen contractors : i aam feeling weird about these assoc. i havent rec'd anything from neither one

21:56:10 [Message] CarolinaProWash : We didn't bother to renew with PWNA - will stay on with *****

21:56:28 [Message] aspen contractors : i did like the ***** one last year....thought it was good couple days spent learning. and of course meeting with others than have been doing this much longer

21:56:41 [Message] aspen contractors : have you rec'd anything from *****?

21:57:36 [Message] aspen contractors : their show is with the entrepreneur one so that kind of looks interesting.

21:57:54 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Just the welcome present - I think I get emails occasionally but not sure - Texas is too much of a trip for us to take for their stuff though

21:58:13 [Message] CarolinaProWash : I think they've aligned themselves with a winner this time, that's for sure Rob

21:59:00 [Message] aspen contractors : i just wished i could receive any info. email, written, or pigeon. if i didnt have access to the net i would be lost...lol

22:01:30 [Message] aspen contractors : i hate snow....but its fun. my flatwork accts start calling friday.

22:01:34 [Message] BarryM : yes I will

22:01:59 [Message] aspen contractors : they will lay salt tonight and call friday to have me com over the weekend and clean it up

22:02:08 [Message] aspen contractors : how much fun can that be?...lol

22:02:09 [Message] CarolinaProWash : That's cool

22:02:14 [Message] BarryM : job security

22:02:19 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Bingo!

22:02:45 [Message] BarryM : you guys ever get too cold at night to stain decks......

22:02:55 [Message] aspen contractors : yeah. but i laugh too hard. i have one acct that last year i would do a section entrance. the next week they wanted it done again and paid me more to just come back and do it...

22:03:09 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Our local high school plays in the State Championship Saturday - our first radio commercial will be playing on the radio that's broadcasting the game :)

22:03:21 [Message] aspen contractors : awesome congrats!!!

22:03:34 [Message] BarryM : I've thought about radio....is it expensive

22:03:37 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Barry - yeah, sometimes but when our temps go there, most have stopped calling

22:03:53 [Message] aspen contractors : i am in the process of putting something together. its a great advertisement. i might post it on my website

22:03:59 [Message] roger : if the temp stay below 40 degs hang it up

22:04:13 [Message] BarryM : oh it's hung

22:04:16 [Message] BarryM : he he

22:04:16 [Message] CarolinaProWash : This sponsorship spot is running us $125 - we'll get mentioned as sponsors at the beginning & end of the game with 4 30 seconds ads during the game

22:04:32 [Message] CarolinaProWash : *whip*

22:04:35 [Message] aspen contractors : that sounds cheap

22:04:36 [Message] BarryM : ouch

22:04:45 [Message] BarryM : not a bad price Celeste

22:05:04 [Message] aspen contractors : in maryland i think you can sneeze for that price

22:05:08 [Message] CarolinaProWash : I thought it was very reasonable for this one time. She's putting together a regular monthly thing for me that I'm afraid is going to be considerably more

22:05:16 [Message] aspen contractors : whats the temps now roger?

22:05:36 [Message] aspen contractors : the old intro price huh?

22:05:36 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Cold!

22:05:39 [Message] BarryM : I'm sure Celeste........they are going to suck you in

22:05:57 [Message] roger : at night upper 20's daytime mid 50's

22:06:04 [Message] BarryM : or try to suck you in

22:06:07 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Hey, if I can't afford it this time of year they can't suck me in! LOL

22:06:36 [Message] aspen contractors : lol true

22:06:55 [Message] BarryM : how's the concrete overlaying going

22:07:00 [Message] CarolinaProWash : This one time thing is because of the football teams' success - plus it's Roger's high school. Community support and all of the happy stuff!

22:07:12 [Message] CarolinaProWash : It's going.....temps are starting to really be an issue

22:07:26 [Message] CarolinaProWash : I'm going to start pushing interior installations

22:07:29 [Message] BarryM : you do some beautiful work

22:07:33 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Thank you!

22:07:44 [Message] aspen contractors : oh yeah...you have to play that hand as much as possible. i learned that. i did some things up here that really worked for getting my name out there

22:07:55 [Message] BarryM : I looked into it in my area.......too many already do it

22:08:16 [Message] aspen contractors : is there ever a problem with water getting under the overlay?

22:08:45 [Message] CarolinaProWash : It can if you don't do it properly or if the concrete is too wet when you start

22:08:47 [Message] aspen contractors : i showed my wife the info from PT and that was the first thing she asked. i never would have thought of asking that

22:09:21 [Message] aspen contractors : well now i know...lol

22:09:27 [Message] CarolinaProWash : When you prep it right, don't try to rush the process, the overlay materials bond to the concrete so there's nowhere for the water to intrude

22:09:48 [Message] aspen contractors : i see

22:10:04 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Also, concrete is mixed with water so it will eventually wick through and cure

22:10:39 [Message] aspen contractors : wow from wood to concrete tonight.

22:10:57 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Not to mention everything in between!

22:11:17 [Message] BarryM : too much coffee earlier for me

22:11:26 [Message] aspen contractors : i have to look and see how many others are doing it in this area. i havent seen any at all and with all my flatwork contracts i am sure i could ponder more work there.

22:11:41 [Message] aspen contractors : i am tired of the painters though....

22:11:56 [Message] BarryM : why

22:12:14 [Message] aspen contractors : if i see one more that says he knows how to do power washing better than a power washer i am buying paint brushes and saying i am a painter

22:12:20 [Message] aspen contractors : lol

22:12:39 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Rob, there is someone up in Maryland that is doing overlays - really nice ones. I'll have to find his URL. He uses the Pure Texture system also.

22:12:44 [Message] BarryM : they don't have a clue do they?

22:12:51 [Message] BarryM : same here

22:12:58 [Message] aspen contractors : sorry...they all just come in and under bid for NOTHING....

22:13:06 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Those guys are the reason that the Round Tables are soooo important

22:13:07 [Message] aspen contractors : thanks Celeste.

22:13:59 [Message] BarryM : yes

22:14:00 [Message] aspen contractors : did you see how HD is selling their machines now?

22:14:10 [Message] aspen contractors : with the new abbrevation?

22:14:18 [Message] BarryM : ?

22:14:35 [Message] aspen contractors : instead of psi i want to say it was Bt something.

22:14:40 [Message] aspen contractors : not BTU

22:14:50 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Rob....www.decorativeconcreteofmd.com

22:15:10 [Message] aspen contractors : but something similiar...

22:15:19 [Message] BarryM : home cheapo

22:15:21 [Message] aspen contractors : thanks...i am pulling it up now

22:15:46 [Message] aspen contractors : well i actually saw a contractor advertising that his machine are as big as 4750000 BT?

22:15:58 [Message] BarryM : their DIY seminars are killing our contractor around here

22:15:59 [Message] CarolinaProWash : What's a BT?

22:16:14 [Message] aspen contractors : its a new abbrevaition they are using on PW

22:16:21 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Barry.....you should go to one of them and pick their demo guy to death!

22:16:24 [Message] aspen contractors : its BTV or something like that

22:16:45 [Message] aspen contractors : the numbers are outrageous.

22:16:49 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Or better yet, get with the management and offer to do it for them - no charge but you get to promote your company or something

22:16:52 [Message] aspen contractors : its great sale pitch.

22:16:52 [Message] BarryM : I should

22:17:26 [Message] CarolinaProWash : What, those big numbers?

22:17:33 [Message] aspen contractors : yeah

22:17:38 [Message] aspen contractors : have you seen them?

22:17:48 [Message] CarolinaProWash : That is strictly a testosterone approach!

22:17:58 [Message] BarryM : It really hurts all contractors

22:17:58 [Message] aspen contractors : i was telling Barry i saw a contractor telling everyone thats what he uses

22:18:10 [Message] aspen contractors : the # was like 475000

22:18:39 [Message] aspen contractors : i was going to ask if he was taking hide off an elephant untl i realized the deal. he should have worked in HD....

22:18:55 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Oh that's just great......contractor tells homeowner that his machine is 2 bajillion BT and it won't damage their house so they they blast the siding off with their little 2500 psi machine. Lovely.

22:19:08 [Message] aspen contractors : sometimes you have to wonder where these people come from. i dont know much about like wood. but i dont claim to neither.

22:19:11 [Message] BarryM : some just don't get it

22:19:38 [Message] CarolinaProWash : And you know what.....those that don't get it can keep calling the $50 guys. Those are not the type customer you want anyway.

22:19:39 [Message] aspen contractors : if anyone came to my house and said my machine is 475000 i would have laughed

22:19:50 [Message] aspen contractors : and told them the trucks paint needs stripped

22:19:53 [Message] BarryM : I talked to a guy that used a turbo on a deck

22:20:03 [Message] BarryM : he was making toothpicks

22:20:11 [Message] aspen contractors : your right there Celeste....i had that customer...lol

22:20:18 [Message] CarolinaProWash : The Ipe dock we just finished was damaged by a turbo tip - I even posted the pictures

22:20:42 [Message] aspen contractors : oh i have the best one. my worst customer of the year award

22:20:53 [Message] BarryM : please share

22:20:58 [Message] aspen contractors : customer (i work with at my FT job)

22:21:11 [Message] aspen contractors : asked me to come over and price the deck

22:21:24 [Message] aspen contractors : 900 sq ft i think .... off the top of my head

22:21:31 [Message] aspen contractors : no railings

22:21:42 [Message] aspen contractors : just bleacher style steps leading down

22:21:55 [Message] aspen contractors : ho tub on deck with lattice 2 ft from hot tub

22:22:03 [Message] aspen contractors : hot tub ,...sorry

22:22:59 [Message] aspen contractors : staining

22:23:12 [Message] aspen contractors : tape up the sliding doors, etc

22:23:34 [Message] aspen contractors : there are splinters all over the doors. line marks in the wood

22:23:48 [Message] aspen contractors : i am flipping out cause "my first thought" was that i did it

22:24:21 [Message] aspen contractors : lol....i know that sounds bad but would you think someone would pay you 1500 and then try to do it? after you did the work?

22:24:32 [Message] BarryM : omg

22:24:38 [Message] CarolinaProWash : what was he thinking?

22:24:51 [Message] aspen contractors : her boyfriend didnt like the color of the wood and get this

22:24:56 [Message] aspen contractors : wanted it brighter

22:25:16 [Message] BarryM : what an idiot

22:25:18 [Message] aspen contractors : now let me go back. deck was 7 yrs old. stained ONCE

22:25:20 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Can we all say........MORON

22:25:43 [Message] aspen contractors : so after i convinced myself i was smarter than to do something this stupid

22:25:50 [Message] aspen contractors : i went and confronted her

22:26:02 [Message] aspen contractors : she admitted what he did

22:26:30 [Message] CarolinaProWash : How much more did you charge them to fix it?!?

22:26:33 [Message] aspen contractors : i told her i had to leave and consult an attorney...lol. truth was i had to re think of what i could really do as a contractor at this point.

22:26:41 [Message] aspen contractors : over 3000

22:26:55 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Chaching :) Sometimes one must love an idiot.

22:27:09 [Message] aspen contractors : i charged 2.5 times the amount

22:27:19 [Message] BarryM : wow

22:27:26 [Message] CarolinaProWash : Could you sand it out?

22:27:31 [Message] aspen contractors : honestly and i might sound bad. but i i didnt wnat to go back so made an outrageous # up

22:27:46 [Message] aspen contractors : i didnt get it all out but alot did come out...lucky for them

22:28:13 [Message] BarryM : bet the boyfriend was in the dog house for awhile

22:28:16 [Message] aspen contractors : so i threw this # together and sure enough she didnt even hesitate and said continue working....(after new contract was issued)

22:28:25 [Message] BarryM : cool
