The injector is installed in a place after the pump, usually off the unloader or by a hose reel. When you drop the pressure with a dual lance or other type of soap nozzle the back pressure is reduced in the line and the water creates a vacuum inside a chamber within the injector. This vacuum sucks in the soap and mixes it with the water running through the system allowing you to spray it on with the pressure washer. When you go to high pressure the back pressure caused makes the vacuum go away and no more soap, then you can rinse. (short version)

I got two long versions from senior application engineers for venturi makers these last few days and it entails the water converting from pressure energy to kinetic energy while going through chamber which casues the suction based entrainment of the chemical. It gets converted back to pressure energy after leaving the chamber. There appears to be different type.

I'll post up the convo if anyone interested..
