Equipment damage from bleach

I have been told a couple of times that I shouldn't use bleach with my pressure washer because it can damage the equipment, yet I know plenty of pressure washers who use bleach every day. Can any one shed some light on this subject. Does it depend on what type of equipment you use?

Probably what is being referred to is running the bleach through the pump itself. If you downstream or x-jet your chems, your pump will last eons longer.
