Pool Cover removal

How do I undo the springy things that hold the pool cover in place? How do I stretch them back on when I finish cleaning?..I popped a few off today by using a screw driver but that can't be right.... Usually they are off when I clean but the owner asked me if I knew how to remove them....Naturally I said yes.......

Not sure myself. Thought I would post to keep it towards the top for you though in case anyone happens to know about this.

A special tool is provided when these covers are installed. Tool looks like a 3/4" pipe with a notch cut from the bottom. Put the pipe on the pin...twist and the spring hook will come off.

Home owner should have one of these tools or buy one at a pool place.
