Need advice

Question

Hi. I am looking for some advice on a situation that occured today. I was pressure washing a house to remove mildew. The house had royal blue painted siding (hardiplank I think) and white trim- overhang, etc. I used a mixture of 1.5 gal of 10% chlorine, liquid detergent, and 4 gal water. I applied with an x-jet. The white trim looked great; however, the blue siding lost its color and became an aqua green color. Also had areas that were spotty green. I have been doing this 9 years and never had this happen. Did I let it dwell too long, too strong of mixture? I called a paint retailer and they said the paint was probably breaking down and oxidizing. I spoke with the customer before washing the entire house and he said to proceed.

Any insight?

THanks!

Yes, I saw it and it was a different color. I spoke with another pw contractor in my area and a paint retailer who both said the paint was oxidizing and breaking down.
