  1. Paul, Thanks for repling to my post. I looked for the power stroke chemical and only saw it under flat surface cleaner. Are you saying that this concrete cleaner can also strip sealers? Thanks, RJ
  2. I have been looking for a horizontal, Portable, hot box and came across a Aaladin model (600), that looks really nice. Does anybody have any experience with this company, and specifically with this hot box? If so, do you know what brand burner do they use, and the size limitations that are on this hot box model? Thanks for your replies!!!!!! RJ
  3. Hey Everyone, I am strongly considering purchasing a new pressure washer, and would appreciate any suggestions. My PW at this time is a Honda / Cat pump 4000psi/3.5 rig on wheels. I mainly do residential cleaning jobs (vinly, brick, driveways, decks etc). The unit I have now is ok, but I feel like I could use a few more gpm to make the jobs go by faster (especially with spider webs). MY new machine will need wheels so that I can load it on and off the trailer (to be stored in garage). I would like to one day add heat to my rig, but can't afford that right now. I am thinking about a rig of maybe 5-6gpm / 3500-4000psi. I like the ones with the stainless steel carts, and 13" foam wheels, but haven't actually seen one. Any replies will be greatly appreciated! RJ
  4. Hey Everyone, I have been picking everyones brain to death lately, trying to decide on a new rig. I have a local pressure washer guy that just bought a Landa, Dual axle trailer rig, from a lady(husband died or left, not sure of the circumstances). I believe the washer is a 5.0gpm, Vanguard motor, hot water unit(141 hours on meter). It is about two years old, and comes with a 500gal water tank, surface cleaner, two hose reels, 400 feet of hose, and a wand with tips. I haven't actually seen it yet, but trust the guys opinion that it is a nice rig. He is asking $7,000. He has his own big rig (goose neck covered trailer). I know that there are some unsaid variables in my description of the rig, but does this sound like a good deal? I am going to look at it this weekend. Thanks in advance for your replies! RJ
  5. Xjet?

I am getting ready to upgrade my rig from a 3.5gpm/4000psi to a 5.0-5.5gpm/ 3500-4000psi rig. The question I have is will I need to purchase a new Xjet, or will the same Xjet work with the new rig? Thanks in advance for your replies! RJ
  6. Thoughts on a Landa rig!

Paul that is a nice looking rig. What to you mean moved on? Are you still in the business? or purchased another rig? Also what kind of money are we talking?
  7. Thoughts on a Landa rig!

Lenny, I am a Law Enforcement Officer. I wish I could afford to go Full time PW. Maybe in a few years.
  8. Suggestion on new PW?

I have really been racking my brain over what unit to get. I don't really want to go over $5000.00, and would like a PORTABLE unit with 5gpm and hot water. It seems the portable hotwater units are usually 4gpm and direct drive pumps. I am leaning towards a belt drive pump. If I get a portable cold water unit, and a hot bot, then it seems I have to worry about charging problem with the hot box (12V). On a 115 hot box, can you just plug the box into a regular receptacle?
  9. Making the x-jet easier to use

I use a blue 7gal camper water jug ($9.00 at Walmart, in camping section.). The cap has a plastic valve on the end, which I cut off. I then put my xjet hose thru the hole and but zip ties on each end so that the siphon can't be pulled out. If the bucket turns over, you don't loose your chemicals immediately. I can't take credit for this idea, because I saw it on a different site.
  10. Xjet?

Kevin, Are you saying that xjets aren't really all that effective, with 5gpm machines? Does anyone have a 5gpm or 5.5gpm rig and use an xjet? I would love to hear your thoughts on the subject!
  11. Xjet?

I forgot a question. Will a 4000psi/5gpm machine throw a stream higher with the xjet than a 3500psi/5gpm machine? Thanks, RJ
  12. surface cleaners / which one?

I usually have a lot of streaks when I use the water broom.
  13. Gpm ?

If using the house water supply, what is the largest GPM machine you can use on average? The homes may have city or well water.
  14. surface cleaners / which one?

Dave, I tried the new surface cleaner out today on my own driveway. It was mostly dirty, but did have a little algae in on area. The SC worked a lot better than the water broom (I love the WW ultra clean SC). I used a turbo nozzle to get in tight spots, and close to the house. I also tried a little OX acid on some rust stains. The OX acid removed some of the lighter rust stains but I still have about three rust stains that the OX acid doesn't seem to work on. I mixed the OX at 8oz per gallon. The OX spots are also lighter than the rest of the concrete. I still have a lot to learn about cleaning concrete.
  15. surface cleaners / which one?

Hey Dave, I did a lot of research on choosing a surface clearer for my machine (4000psi/3.5gpm), and ended up getting the Whisper Wash Ultra Clean with wheels. It is a 19" unit. The Ultra clean without wheels is a 16" model. I choose this particluar one, because of quality and correct size for my machine. The ultra clean models are for 3-6 gpm machines. Most surface cleaners over 16" are for machines with 4-8gpm. It is an economy model for WW, but looks pretty nice, and the swivel bar underneath the cover is very heavy duty. On the internet, Pressure Tek had the best price that I could find for the 19" model. I believe Bob quoted me a price of $529.95 ($13.00 S/H). As it turned out, I ended up meeting a local PW(probably the biggest in my area), and was asking him questions about surface cleaners. He was extremely nice, and quoted me a price of $519.00. I just picked it up yesterday and haven't had a chance to see how it works with my machine.
  16. Buffer Tank ?

I have been doing some research on maybe upsizing my 3.5gpm rig to a 5.0gpm rig, and have some questions about the buffer tank. Can anyone tell me how the buffer tank is rigged (or connected) to the pressure washer(unsure how everything is hooked together). Pictures would be great.
  17. Gpm ?

Thanks guys for all the replies. But I now have another question. How does the buffer tank tie into my system? Other than the tank, what will I need?
  18. Spider Webs?

Does anyone have any suggestions on the removal of spider webs? I did a house the other day, that should have only taken about 2-3 hours with my 3.5gpm/4000psi machine(M5 jet), but instead it took 6hrs, because of all the spider webs.
  19. F-13 Questions

  20. Can anyone tell me the shelf life for 12.5% Sodium Hypochlorite. I am a parttime PW, and the smallest amount I can get is 35gal ($236.25). Also does this stuff come in a powder form?
  21. Shelf Life for 12.5% SH?

That is a delivered to the door price. The company ordering it is in VA. I asked could it be shipped with other chemicals to their business so that I wouldn't have to pay frieght. Their reply was "NO".
