I would like to hear your opinions on different unloaders. I need to get a spare unloader for my 3500psi/5.6gpm machine, and don't know which one to pick. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Wesley,
I would send those pictures to Russ or Bob. they will be glad to help you out. I think you probably need a good chemical injector. I have a General pump injector that I got from Bob at pressure tek, but there are other good ones out there.

I carry around a can of oven cleaner (sodium hydroxide) in my truck, and spray a test spot on the deck, when I am not sure what kind of stain is on it. If the oven cleaner will remove it, it is an oil based stain.

Wow,
Todays is the 28th and I still haven't gotten my order of HD80. It is well over a week since I placed the order. I tried calling today to see the status on the order, but got an answering machine. I have a job scheduled for this coming week and will likely have to postpone it if it doesn't come in soon.

I put in a order about a week ago, and haven't received my order either. I hope nothing has happen, as I am going to need the HD80 next week.

Tell the customer that the cleaning may streak the paint or even remove it in some places. Get this agreement in writing.

Napa Auto parts will do it where I live.

guys thanks for the replies!

Another ? about this job, if I can remove most of the old stain (say 90%), and go back with the same kind gray stain, will the job come out looking good. The home owner said he was going to find an old can of the stuff in the shed. He said he thought it was a Behr product, and pretty sure of it being a oil based stain.
I did test it with oven cleaner in a couple of spots and it would come off.

Hey Guys,
I have used F18 and had good results with it, but have heard nothing but great things about HD80. I have a 25x25 deck coming up, that has I believe a gray (solid color) oil based stain on it (oven cleaner will remove it). I need to purchase some more stripper, and was wondering if I shouldn't try HD80 for this job, or are they both about the same thing?
One more question. I have a 5.3gpm develan pump set up for roof cleaning. I tried to use it the other day, and and it emptied my 5 gallon bucket of stripper in no time. I was wondering if I could decrease the tip size and make this pump work as a deck pump also, for applying stripper and brightener?
All replies will be greatly appreciated.

Chris,
I was at Sherman Williams today looking at sprayers and ended up buying a Spraytech, but they had a sale on the Titan for $675.00 with rebate (Spraytechs also had rebates). I may hate myself for not buying the Titan, but money is tight and I haven't had that many decks so far.

Terry thanks for the info.
It is a Spraytech PF30 (5/8hr, 3000psi, .3gpm. A friend of mine at the paint store recommended it. He said I could pay more and get the Titan, but for me, doing 6-12 decks a year, this would be all I needed.
Thanks for the replies!

Hey Guys,
I just bought an airless spray painter and was wondering what size tip would be best for the lowest autominization when applying sealer or stain. I plan on using mostly semitransparent stain. The guy at the paint store, sold me a 311 reversible tip.
Thanks,
RJ

Does anybody have any experience with a multireg nozzle? I saw one being advertized in a Delco Wats Blaster paper. It states that it can go from high to low pressure, and from a fan to a stream at both pressures. I was wondering if this nozzle might not be the M5 for downstreamers (one nozzle for all applications). It sells for $50.00.

yes i was talking about a 5 gal bucket

I have been using an xjet for washing houses, but have become curious about downstreaming after reading all the post on the subject. I have a 3500psi/5.6gpm washer and it came with what looks like an Adams chemical injector. My question is will this type of injector work? or do I need one of the higher draw injectors? I believe the Adams is suppose to go up to 20%, but they recommend a hose length of 100ft or less. I usually need 150-200ft of hose.
If my Adams injector is enough, then what would be a good Simple Cherry/12.5%SH mixture for downstreaming with this rig. Also how long does it take for the chemical to go through the lines (150-200ft)?

I started out with a 13hp Honda 4000psi/3.5gpm with a cat pump(direct drive). The very first time I used it, the pump went out on me, carried it back to Northern Tool and they replaced it free. I haven't had any more problems with it since, but have sinced more up in size. I now have a 20hp Honda 3500psi/5.6gpm washer (belt driven, General Pump).
The 5.6gpm is definetely the way to go. I can clean twice as fast with this washer. It is hard to believe that 1.9 gallons per minute more, makes that much difference but it does.
Get a good brand with the highest gallons per minute you can afford. The psi isn't that important, but I would want to stay around 3000 or so.

thanks everyone

I was just looking at the Decker models on the sunbrite's website, and noticed a few things. They mentioned that the new pumps were 114 models instead of the older 112 models. Does anybody have a new model and have they had any problems with it. I also noticed that they have rebuild kits for 12dc and 120vac models, so I assume you can order either one. Anybody have a 120vac? If so how does it work? And one last question, I have read on some of the post about these pumps that you can get pumps with plastic parts or stainless parts. Is one better than the other?

welcome aboard! Vast amount of knowledge here.

The reason I was asking is because in one of the search threads, a guy mentions washing a hardiplank house and it changed colors (blue to green). They mentioned oxidation as the cause on the thread, but I was wondering if there were any precautions to take when dealing with it.
Jeff,
You mention that I should just use regular house wash, so would 2gal of 12.5 SH and simply cherry in a 7 gal bucket X-jetted be fine?
Thanks for the replies so far!

I was wondering if any of you have any recommendations for cleaning painted hardiplank. I did a search and found three threads, but not much information, on the best way to clean it, or should I stay away from it. I am thinking that I should go easy on the bleach when dealing with the stuff.

Will it apply Wood Tux stains?

Does anybody have any experience stripping the Olympic Products, that are water clean up? Also what are your thoughts on these products?

I would like to purchase a flow activated unloader for my washer. The washer has a general pump and is 3500psi/5.6gpm. I have been looking at maybe a K-5, K-7 or ZK-1, but can't decide which one. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and also any recomendation on the best place to purchase one.
Thanks in Advance!
