Caused An Accident Last Night
copgib replied to Vince Wood's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
You probably won't hear from old Vince on this. He probably is still running! Hugh -
I have never been impressed with either candidate. Normally I am a Republican but I don't like the ticket this time. I feel there were stronger subjects in the republican party that would have faired better than McCain is doing. I don't like his pick as VP either. It seems all she is doing now is running around the country bad mouthing Obama. I feel all this is doing is hurting McCain with all the negative talk. They should be driving home the ideas of what they are going to do to save our country. My prediction is that Obama wins by a large point spread. Reason, all the negativity from Palin & McCain will be like the Titantic going down. As far as Obama for President I guess it will be either the best 4-years to come or we will all be getting for food from the welfare offices that they will have to setup as they continue to totally ruin our country and economy. Like all others have said before, I am real mad also. Those fat politicians have been raping our country and economy for many years with all the pork barrel spending, now we see the results. If I had the power I would hire everyone of those guys & gals and replace them all with middle class people and I would tax the hell out of anyone making over $300,000. Well I better go calm down now I said what I wanted too. We have been crapped on too long, I can hardly see anymore with crap up to my cheeks. Hugh

What about the news today where it interviewed some people in Alaska where it is a known fact that Palin inquired about censoring books she didn't like in the library there. Although the librarian wouldn't remove them, she stated Palin make it hard for her to work and do her job until the librarian had enough and quit. I think in time when everyone comes off this high of a women selected as a VP canidate, we will find out alot of other things that will make more people question whether we would want her as President when McCain croaks. My feelings on McCain pick for VP is he did it to draw women voters from Obama. just look at the TV, McCain is keeping close by her side since she is the one drawing the crowds, not him. I really don't like any of them running for office. Either way I feel we are all going to be screwed as far as small businesses go. If you think just because one side says they are going to improve or give the small business guy a good deal, stop stick your head in a bucket of water and wake up and smell the roses. They are telling you only what you want to hear for that vote. Look at the past, look at all the previous promises from past Presidents and how many promises were kept, not many! You watch, whoever gets elected, once in office 6 to 8 months we will all regret we ever voted for them. By the way I used to be a republican now I could careless for either party. This of course is only, and I repeat only my opinon on this crap! Hugh

I would like each and everyone that reads this, if they believe in the power of prayer, that they say a prayer for my sister. Her name is Janet and she is 59-years old. You might say she seem to get all the bad luck compared to the rest of our family. First she had breast cancer about 10-years ago and had both breast removed. Problem solved. Three years ago, she found out she had colon cancer, again she had an operation and they got it. Last month she was told she had cancer on her overies (spelled wrong). Two weeks ago she had the operation and the doctor told her they thought they got it all, but wasn't 100% sure. They ran test on cancer they took out of her and they told her that it was a type 3. This is one short of telling you they can't do anything for you. The doctor told her that he wants her to go through a whole list of cemo treatments to make sure any that might still be there is killed. She asked the doctor if she was going to die this time, all he stated was lets see how the cemo treatments do which in her mind means she is going to die. Please keep her in your prayers if you would. She needs everyones prayers. She is having a hard time dealing with it again. Thank you! Hugh (copgib)

Well we are just waiting to see if and when the storm is going to make that turn to the west. Once that happens we will get our share. I just hope we are on the west side of it where the store isn't that bad. Here is a story for you, yesterday I went to the dentist to get a filling put in. After they numbed me up the whole one side of my face was numb I could hardly speak clearly. Wouldn't you know it I got a call to clean a driveway. I ask the lady what her address was and I guess she thought I was drunk or something because she immediately told me never mind and hung up before I could get another word out. I laughed it off and did not bother to call her and explain once I could speak normal again 2-hours later. Hugh

Well around Gainesville we have gotten very little wind and rain so far. This is suppose to change tonight and tomorrow, but nothing like what you got Mel. Everybody stay safe! Hugh
-
I for one don't expect much except heavy rain tornados and wind. But after living in the Florida Keys for 15-years and working in and riding through numerous hurricanes, I am more relaxed to be living further north in the state. I too hope everyone is safe after this storm, I see on the news they expect more hurricanes to form this year that they thought before. Hugh

This is an ad in our local paper. These are the type of people we have around here. They all come out of the wood work every spring. Here is the ad: Pressure Cleaning 1200 - 2000sq ft - $150, includes roof, fascia, siding, with purchase get driveway done free. We accept all major credit cards. Insured. What do you think of those prices? Hugh
-
I can't seem to find this information, so I will ask. When do you decide to replace your high pressure hoses? I can not image waiting till one burst. Also what do you guys do with the old hoses? I will probably replace my hoses within the next few months and leave the old one for an emergency backup since they are getting some cuts in them and beat up pretty bad. Thanks Hugh

How would you handle this?
copgib posted a question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I need some wood refinishing advise if possible. I have a 12' X 12' deck with no railing, just a flat deck. It is pressure treated wood that had been stained with a Thompson's light shade of stain. I cleaned the deck with F18 and then sprayed it with oxy. I went back yesterday to look at it and I noticed a couple spots that I didn't see earlier that where small but seem to still have alittle of the old stain on the wood. Tomorrow, Monday I am suppose to seal the deck since it has dryed out. How would you handle this? Should I sand the few spots that I missed or just go ahead with staining? Customer requested I put Thompsons water seal back on the deck. I am putting on a clear stain. Any help would be appreciated. Hugh -
joe walters wants me to pay!!
copgib replied to dlech1825's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I have had Joe Walters coverage for a few years now and they have always provided me with excellent service. If your not happy with the fees, I suggest you cancel the policy and get someone locally you feel comfortable with. Hugh -
Act out to acheive lower gas prices...is this worth a shot?
copgib replied to MMI Enterprises's question in The Club House
I have had about 10-people send this to me already. Hugh -

John the customer has already signed a release of liability form I gave him since he is so set in what he wants. Thanks for the suggestion but I have already thought of ways to cover my butt on this one. Hugh -

Chris I would say I saw 2-areas about 4" X 4" in size with the old stain still there. The owner says it is a tinted Thompson's stain which is up against the siding of the house. I don't want to wet the deck with water again if I can help it. The deck is dry enough for the stain now. Thanks Hugh -

If any democrat is elected, ALL of them say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen. This is like the movie "The Sting" with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of their money and they don't even know what happened.

Jeff you still chewing on the topic I stuck here a few days ago?? Hugh
-
Hey Beth, does that mean we have to be respectful to Jeff too???? Jeff my sleep at night hasn't been going to good after my burglary. The neighbors dog backs alot at night which makes me walk downstairs with gun in hand to check it out. I sure will be glad when Wednesday get here, I get my monitored alarm system installed then. As far as President goes. I vote for a different type of government without a president in charge. How about every man for themselves? Take care, I will be sitting here shining my gun up so it will be ready for some action! Hugh
