Armstrong Clark and full restoration - PT deck
Beth n Rod posted a question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
This deck got full restoration. The photos are after it was washed, it was also fully sanded and then it was sealed with Armstrong Clark. The deck lights were also polished.... ;) Beth  :dancing: -

Armstrong Clark and full restoration - PT deck
Beth n Rod replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
To answer a few of the questions....: The sander is Alto, we used 20 grit to get down to level and went up to 60. It was a rental unit which was noisy and sounded like a yamaha with a thrown piston. Don't know how much they cost but I can guess they would be around 2K As far as how well A/C would hold up down in Texas, I would guess as well as up here in the mid Atlantic. Check with Jake Clark, he can fill ya in. Rod!~ -
This is not competition
Beth n Rod replied to RPetry's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
That is what I would call 'Novice'. No understanding of the technique(s) used to clean wood with a wand. Also looks like this person did not use chems and did not defur the deck before hand. That is truly a sad sight indeed. I can understand your position Rick in it being good for business but by the same token, they are bad for business because they create a stigma of ineptitude about our industry. The pics you posted are a testament to that perception. Albeit, the customer is just as much at fault for not doing their due diligence, they did not verify this contractors abilities and perhaps even went with them as the low bidder to save money in a down economy. Whatever the reason, the customer will look at our profession with skepticism and doubt and that will be conveyed in conversations this person will have in the future to others in their circle. The ray of hope here is that I know you will correct it, and make this customer happy they chose to spend their money with you. Rod!~ -

Armstrong Clark and full restoration - PT deck
Beth n Rod replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
You're kidding me, right? We have enough two bit low balling hacks that blast with just pressure around here that you often need to sand....but there is a price... ;) Beth -
