deck with Olympic stain
Beth n Rod replied to Chappy's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
That's an easy masking job.....at least I think it is. Get a roll of pre-taped plastic. (9 foot roll) Cut a piece big enough to go around the post. Pre-tape from the top down (suggesting 6 feet high) Blue tape at the bottom, leaving half the blue tape bare to tuck into. Unfold pre-taped plastic pulling down gently and tucking into the blue tape seam, press closed. Run a seam of blue tape up the opening in the plastic. Your columns are now masked. Rock on that wood! Seemed to do well, but I was not out on that job. Overall, this product covers well. I would use the semi-solid with confidence. Beth -

You know the REAL reason they work is to have those Heineken's you keep around...that and your charming humor! HAH! I'm sure they are great guys, and they have a boss who is not too shabby either. I'll bet they have learned well!:) Beth :cup: it's a holiday..might have to spike my cup!:cup: -

An Armstrong Clark deck....is a sweet thing in life!
Beth n Rod replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
It's what the customer chose. It's actually really popular out here. Keep in mind that was just applied. It should mellow out a bit. The photo was taken from the ladder on the way off the deck. Beth -
Vote for Winner of Armstrong Clark Contest
Beth n Rod replied to Scott Paul's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
The first poll was lost in the database crash. We lost 12 hours worth of data, the most current backup was 12 hours prior to the crash. We are sorry for the inconvenience, please be sure to vote for the project of your choice in Scott's contest. Beth :cup::cup: -

Wood Tux Wet, ( WTW ) 2 years old
Beth n Rod replied to acegot's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
For 2 years in full sun, it fared well. The more recent versions aren't doing this well, so I was curious to see the results. Since there is such a vast inconsistency in the formula being released to the end user, I would not recommend a wash and re-coat like in the past when we were very strong advocates of the product. I think your suggestion is a good one for your best interests but I would suggest making it a strip because it will not allow the Armstrong Clark to penetrate and set up leaving the product to sit on the surface and remain sticky. (been there done that) Thanks for posting the pic! Rod!~ -

Only the rails on the log home have AC on them. The deck is the entry, not the house. Beth -

Ok, here's ours...... The deck was done two-toned. Sierra Redwood Toner on the rails, and a blend of Semi-Cedar and Cedar Toner on the floor. Beth -
