  1. Call your local deck builders and ask them what they build with. I'm willing to bet ipe is one of the materials that is popular. Probably some cedar as well as PT....maybe the occasional mahogany deck. Everyone thinks their area is plain PT until they find it to be otherwise.... Beth

  3. First pick is Sierra Redwood on a cedar deck and cedar rails that gets alot of weather, it is what the deck really needed given the environment, and the customer likes the color. It's attached to a log home. Second and third are the same job, stripped Behr, buffed, and used semi-cedar and cedar toner blended. Beth

    We had one you could have played golf on once....nice mossy mound on the deck and rot underneath. I wish I had photos. At least I have memories! :lol: Beth

  8. Here's a cedar screened in porch we sealed with Armstrong Clark, semi-cedar and cedar toner blend.... ;) It used to be sealed with that which shall not be named... Beth :banana: BOOYA!!! Sealing with AC is a wonderful thing! :banana:

    Not sure how long ago it was published, it has been around for a good 5 years or so, don't know if it has been updated. I'm a bad one to ask about books, as I tend to want to buy them.... ;) Beth

  20. Try the Semi-cedar with the redwood tone... (3:2) We have used that quite a bit, looks especially nice on old, severely neglected PT. Beth :cup: :banana:
  21. Assuming you have the correct weather to seal it between now and then.....personally, I would let that ipe age a year before sealing, after you strip that mess off of it. Beth
