  5. Well Disclaimer

If you are going to use more water than a tank can carry and the well can supply, rent a water truck and have them bring a small truck with a couple thousand gallons. It's worth the expense not to harm the well. Usually you would look under companies that supply pool water for this service. Beth
  6. If you have time between now and July 3rd (wants it done by the 4th) to wash and seal a deck, PM me for details. We can't get to him in time, no way.....Just got the request so this one is hot. Beth

  11. Spam or No Spam

I am sooooooooo sick of spammers! I just banned another one! Blew him right out of the database! It gets on my nerves when these one line posts direct traffic to another site. I don't give a cr*p if it is for viagra, phone service, or what..... I hate waking up to spam in the morning. It's like not having milk for my coffee! :cup: Beth
  12. Woohoo! Can't wait to see it and use it! Beth
  13. I use a smaller version of the makita. A 5" grinder with a 7" disk. Small and lite, it gets into more tight areas and btw, one does not have to get the most coarse grit. 50-80 grit works fine for most applications. Rod!~
  14. Spam or No Spam

I hate spam. I have been known to blow a blatant spammer out of the database so fast it would make your head spin.... .....back to my coffee..... :cup: Beth
  15. We tried to donate some to a couple of charities, Habitat was one of them, they can't take sealers, stains, paints. Beth
  16. Spam or No Spam

I see both points of view here, and all I'm going to say is this thread needs to remain calm and professional. That's the bottom line. Have a great evening....I for one am disconnecting. Bye! Beth
  17. That is but one tiny entry.....on the uber log home I mentioned to you. All the support logs are huge. It is still under construction. Beth
  18. Rick, Mineral stains caused by sprinklers tend to be darker overall as you mentioned. :) Beth
  19. If you look closely, you will see a darker ring between the grey wood and the golden wood, that is the migrating extractives and tannin. Beth
  20. Here's a shot of what I'm talking about. Brand new house, never washed or sealed that has to have the issue addresses before the first finish is installed. Beth
  21. You will also see it where excessive amounts of water have been on the wood, right where the dry line is...we have seen it on log and cedar homes quite a bit. If you have ever washed a deck attached to a wood home you may have seen it around the rails where they connect to the dwelling, where water pitches off of a roof with no gutters or overflowing gutters, also on fences you will see it from the bottom up (wicking), and especially around plants where an area stays wet longer. Sometimes you can actually see the rings from the tannin sort of bordering the area between the overly wet and more dry area. The fix in this case is to rewash and neutralize the entire area so the tannin marks are removed. Hope this helps. Beth
  22. Where it involves fasteners, you are correct. But there are also cases of tannin bleed that do not involve fasteners.... Beth
  23. Hollywood style

That place looks so elegant! Beth
  24. "Citralic" is a made up name, created by ESI, to label the blend of citric and oxalic acid they sell. According to the MSDS it is a 70/30 blend. We use a blend, but do not buy the ESI product. Oxalic when mixed too strong can cause a silver effect to be present once the wood dries. Blended oxalic and citric leaves the wood more natural looking. You could use all citric, but it won't address tannin bleeding from nails and such, you need the oxalic for that. Hope this helps. Beth
  25. I think you might need to hit it again with hd-80 again to get rid of the black pigment that appears to be left in the substrate. Rod!~
