  1. American Idol - How Did YOU Vote ?

If I were to invest in a sound system, it would be a PA system complete with amplifiers and probably a 36-48 channel sound board. Peavy Speakers with subs and stands. Problem is...I need a garage to set it up in and blast away... hehehe. :bandplay: Rod!~
  2. Price This House

See, now I would have to laugh my butt off if some guy drove up and did it for $99.00! I would have to sit and watch and laugh my tail off. You KNOW that has happened before... Beth
  3. Washing Wood Siding

It depends. What finish is on the wood? Beth

  8. Newer decks

Pre-VOC change wood Tux, circa 2003. The good stuff. The lattice is ACQ, has held up like a champ, no problems. The flooring is CA-B. We got the expected life out of that too. Again, Pre-VOC changes....AFTER 2005 - The touch up we did to the floor with the reduced VOC WT yielded a CRAPPY result. Deck is now sealed with AC. Beth

  10. Newer decks

When our deck was newly built we washed and sealed it the same week it was built. It's made of PT lumber. It took the sealer fine, held up like a champ, and helped to prevent the onset of UV damage. Only hardwoods benefit from "seasoning" them exposed to the elements. Beth

  12. American Idol - How Did YOU Vote ?

Simon didn't look happy when Chris won. Chris has a more contemporary top 40 sound, and a softer voice. Adam has a more powerful voice, better range and can sing just about any style music. Both can arrange music beautifully. Both fully deserved it. But, both will be famous. Beth
  13. what have I done?

I know that, but typically it is worst on aluminum, one reason is aluminum is an older technology and is not being made any longer, at least not in Maryland. Vinyl is not as problematic. Beth

  15. what have I done?

In that case, it does sound like soap residue, and the advice above given by Jeff sounds right. Beth
  16. Price This House

    +1! Beth :sunshine: :cup:
  17. what have I done?

+1! If it is aluminum siding, you may well have cleaned the mildew and algae off to reveal the oxidation beneath it. Severe oxidation is pre-existing condition on old aluminum siding. It's a chalkiness you can wipe with your fingertip. It will be worst on the sunny sides of the home. Beth

  20. Dueling Shurflos

That's why we prefer pumps to downstreaming. You also have better control of the area that gets hit with your chemicals. Beth

  23. Website Theft

Call them and ask them to remove it. That's what I do. If you do not have a statement at the bottom of your site regarding use of the site contents, now would be a good time to add one. Beth
  24. Sand or Clean IPE before restaining?

Ipe needs a Sodium Hydroxide Cleaner to work effectively at getting deep into the substrate. Unfortunately, there are few available that a homeowner can purchase that can be diluted to reasonable strengths to just clean with instead of stripping. After the cleaning, you will need to neutralize the surface (stop the previous cleaner from being active) and rinse thoroughly. Rod!~
