Good advice, but I have not found anything short of duct tape that will stick long enough through the process to be worth the effort and afterwards deal with the residue or pulling paint/oxidation. Any suggestions? Rod

Penofin

Any oil based product we use has to have an additional mildewcide added. Other than that, don't over apply. Rod -
Surface Cleaner Swivels
Beth n Rod replied to mick m's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
These are sealed bearings. Usually one will last a number of years depending upon use. I don't have one specifically, but in comparison, my Whisper wash classic swivel only needed replacement 2x in the 15 years I owned it. Rod -
Spot Stripping?
Beth n Rod replied to bradcarey's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
In extreme cases...yes. But HD-80 will do the trick in either case. Rod -
Deckster reach

You can customize the set up to accept extention lances for higher reach. Qc's are very versatile. Rod -

Deck Staining-Oil or Water Based?
Beth n Rod replied to bradcarey's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Yep. Looks like oil to me and a pretty sweet job. Beth -
As you and I know Rick, as the owner, you know what to do with the equipment and when. I can't always get my techs to know the difference or even care for that matter. They just hook up and go. Rod

Deck Staining-Oil or Water Based?
Beth n Rod replied to bradcarey's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Oil on cedar. Reason: Cedar compacts from simply walking on it. This kills acrylics quickly and they peel and flake off easily within a short time. Oils help keep the wood more lubricated and helps to keep water out better. They last longer but do require recoating overall because mildew/mold grows on them quite readily. Rod -

Spider Webs at dizzying heights
Beth n Rod replied to joelnece's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Sorry I missed this one... A bleach and degreaser formulation will deal with it. The combination reduces the spider webs ability to stick and they come right off during a wash. Hot water (125*) helps too. Rod -
Rick, Yeah, we weren't able to make it this year. Full plate and not enough hours in the day. We enjoy the show and are disappointed ourselves in not having the time to go. Ready Seal does have that lighter than air capability to it. I forgot since I stopped using it so long ago. We used to just use pump ups for it. Tried it with the decker and got the fog of doom. Once you release it, you never know where it will go... Rod

Hey Rick, The 'vertitable fog of doom' isn't as bad when you adjust your pressure to suit the product applied and use a larger orifice tip. I have experienced that fog even with deckers/desksters when we used to use Wood Tux back in the day. Part of the reason why we switched. Better control factor and choice of tips. Rod

Titan Airless. I only use Deckers for chem application anymore. Too much issue with seals breaking down using stain. Only replace the seals now maybe once every 3 years or so. Rod

Anyone have to strip a coating like this.

Replacing the boards as others have suggested is the least expensive. Trying to flip boards in my experience....since they have gotten so far past their life span usually break and split upon trying to remove them. Save the hassle and talk up the savings over the years by replacing the wood vs flipping it and still having crap wood. Rod -
