I'm with Jim. It can be done, it is expensive, but they need to know there will be residual pigment left. If they can't stand that thought they need to be ready for a solid stain. Beth -

Jim, As far north as you are, I will say I would advise against anything that will leave a surface film, due to freeze and thaw cycles. No CWF, no Sikkens Cetol DEK, no acylics. Maybe TWP, or the Armstrong Clark product, or Woodrich. Can you get TWP up there? And like I said, a nice cedar tone or Western Cedar in the Woodrich ( or Wood Tux) should work well for you. Beth
