Yesterday, I had a very pleasant surprise. One of our members who is a lurker here, stopped by to say hi and introduce himself. Rob from R&C Roof Clean is a roof cleaner, and I must say - nice portfolio! It seems he went to Florida and met Don Phelps, who helped him get started in roof cleaning. This is what networking is all about folks, it really is. Thank you Don, for helping Rob get started on his roof cleaning adventure. And thank you Rob, for stopping by. It was wonderful meeting you, it's always a way cool think to meet a member of TGS. I know you're a lurker, I know you most likely won't post a reply - and that's cool too. But it really, really made my day to meet you and I wish you every success in the world. Have a great day everyone! Keep helping each other out. It makes a difference! :dancing: It really does! Beth

Isn't it funny how that works? Usually the really nice stuff costs more... ;) They know they have a nice product, marketed to high end consumers. Beth -

User-Created Social Groups To further social cohesion between users and to encourage people to make friends, vBulletin now includes a facility to allow users to create their own social/interest groups. Look for invitations to Social Groups in the same area where you find you have PM's when you login. These groups are enhanced by having their own public messaging system, and the ability to add pictures to the group from user albums.

MJ, Others have covered the salient points of the process but I find what is missing is the prep work involved before applying a stain. You will need to mask using 2" blue painters tape and put down plastic and a tarp over the composite to limit getting stain on it. Yes, this seems like over kill but given experience, an ounce of prevention... WT is indeed a bit more difficult to apply but with enough attention to detail and working in small areas you should be able to get some good results. Use a small brush for the detail areas and hard to reach stuff and a stain pad for the main applicator to the rest of the spindles and supports. See Dirt Run! - Outlined and primed, ready to be two toned. The link above shows a typical 2-tone prep which is much like what we do to composite applications. The difference is you will be taping around the supports and the floor where you put down the plastic. This is your fail-safe barrier for anything that goes through the tarp that will be laying on top of it. The taping of the plastic is in case of wind or breezes that come along and tend to expose the composite. Taking the necessary precautions will limit the amount of stain on your composite (notice I didn't say avoid). Stain is designed to soak into fiberous materials and tape is just that and can get underneath of it so be light on the application around taped areas. Happy diy'ing. Rod!~

Think big! I like jobs that size. Would rather spend a day on one large job than two or three smaller ones... Beth :cup: :sunshine: -
I'll add to what Carlos posted by asking if the glass is tinted? This formulation used in tinting can be damaged by high pH solutions. Rod!~

There is a little known formula used to take into account for life's unexpected time drainers...its called a 'P.I.T.A.' Factor. (Pain In The Arse) One can use them in percentage increments on a scale of 1-5. For example; 1=5% (minimal difficulty above normal) 2=10% (Terrain, plants, access) 3=15% (Difficult task or multiple ladder moves needed) 4=20% (Multiple ladder moves on sloped, terraced or steep terrain etc) 5=25% (Problematic customer, abusive or otherwise) JK on this one. But you get the idea, you can come up with your own scale as you learn how these affect your job progress. Rod!~
