deck cleaning
Beth n Rod replied to A and J POWERWASHING's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Cleaning and stripping are two different animals altogether. For basic cleaning we like percarbonates. For stripping, depends on what's being removed, but a basic oil needs a sodium hydroxide based stripper, such as HD-80, Timber Strip Pro, or F-18. Just my .02... Beth p.s. All of the above require neutralization....never skip it, and always rinse afterwards. -

I have ( I think I still have it) a Promotional Only Not for Resale copy of Breakfast In America. I saw them in concert on their first tour, right after the album came out, before they got popular. EXCELLENT show! Beth

I love the Rolling Stones. Saw them in freezing temps here in DC, at the new stadium after it was built. Had nosebleed seats, loved every bone chilling nose running minute of it. On the albums they are never old, and I only hope I am as active as MJ is when I am his age. I love lots of stuff out of the 70's. That was my era so to speak. But, I like lots of other stuff as well. Tom Petty anyone? Santana? Stevie Wonder? Beth :cup: :dancing:

Caustic Damage!!!!!!!!!!gotta seeeeee
Beth n Rod replied to Ron Musgraves's topic in Chemicals & Safety
That's pretty severe. To have that much damage, the concentrate of caustic had to be pretty high. Also it's pretty evident they didn't have a couple lot guys with supply hoses and a neutralizer to help keep that from happening. It would have been pretty easy to prevent that. Beth :cup: -
Hugh, I think Celeste and Roger have used a good bit of NMD80. I'll shoot her a message to check this thread. Beth

Everyone please just breath. Daniel has edited his post. You are both entitled to you opinions, please be respectful of one another here. Now getting back to topic, I wonder how many new products will be introduced that are like this? Seems to me a number of folks said they thought things were moving this direction with coatings. Are they HOT wings? Extra sauce? Blue cheese dressing? Celery? I'm hungry! Seriously, been a Beatles fan (and that goes for all members and any work they did after they split up too, and any other bands one of them was in) for years. Beth

Northern, NJ... ipe deck lead
Beth n Rod replied to PressurePros's topic in Contractor Help Wanted - Job Leads
That was not my question. You say the customer wants your products used. Have they (home owner) purchased them (your products) already, or will they be on behalf of the contractor or are you requiring the contractor purchase from you as a condition of the lead? Beth -
Northern, NJ... ipe deck lead
Beth n Rod replied to PressurePros's topic in Contractor Help Wanted - Job Leads
And is the customer purchasing the product from you, or is the contractor? Is it cleaners, sealers, or both? Inquiring minds.... Beth -

Ken, I have read many labels. There has been lots of info on these newer technologies out there since 2005 when many of them were introduced. Beth ps DOH!!! I see what you mean...the B is gone.... -

There are water BASED products and water BORNE products and they are not the same. They have been around a while..... Beth :cup: -
See, we are there already in Maryland. But I'm not sure the licensing analogy fits. WHY NOT be licensed? Why fight it at all? Why skirt around a law for example by having a job on two invoices to stay under a certain dollar total to avoid the license? I know of companies in some states that do that, and based on their total work...should NOT. What does it say about the ethics of the company and about their integrity? I can say from experience, that where it is required having a license for home improvement does make a difference to your business. It costs us less to be a licensed home improvement contractor in MD than it does for many other things. Beth
