  13. Democrat ? Republican ? Independent ?

Here we go: Rock vs Rap. Now ain't that politically debatable? Let's see...rockers play their own instruments and write the songs and perform them live in public to show they are for real. rappers rip off others sound tracks, write poetry with plenty of cuss words to make them sound ...uh... something...and then they go out and perform publicly to show they can't sing either. nahhhh! hands down, Rock Rules! Rod!~

It should not dry out. When a stripper is applied, it has to stay wet to stay active. He needs to work on smaller areas, if he can't keep up with the stripper drying, OR he needs to re-wet the areas, but with more stripper not water. Water ill dilute it. Beth
  18. Hhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeellllp!!!!!!!!!

The strip was not complete as you may have guessed. The stripper should have been applied a second time and let dwell till the entire house basically turns almost black, then it would wash off with ease. As others have stated, it needs to be done again, but you may be justified in your thinking that the person doing the job currently is a novice. Rod!~
  19. P state

lol...yes, they are....to both points. Beth
  20. Hhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeellllp!!!!!!!!!

Alright.... What I see, is that he applied the stripper, and didn't wash properly. He needs to reapply the stripper, so that it evenly covers the wood. Then he needs to wash the logs. Once he has washed all the logs he needs to apply a second chemical, an acid this time, to neutralize the wood with. This will balance the pH and also brighten the wood. At this point the streaks should be gone. Once the logs are dry, he can take a hand held buffing tool and an Osborne brush and buff those logs down. Call me today if you like. Glad to help. My cell is 240-876-0692 Beth p.s. you might try a user here named Northwestern. Send him a PM.

http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/faq.php?faq=new_faq_item Read this. It should help. There are certain steps to take, and until we see pics we can't tell too much more. But it will be ok. You'll see. Beth

    Wonderful. Loved it. Beth
  23. Hhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeellllp!!!!!!!!!

1st: need to see some pics in order to assess the situation better. 2nd: need to know which stripper he use, which acid was used to neutralize with and the concentration of each. 3rd: Fuzzing is normal when using a chemical stripper. The fix is to defur the logs after they have dried, before applying a borate treatment or finish. 4th: calm down and take a deep breath. It is fixable. :) Rod!~
  24. Cabot Ato Problem

We had one deck this year we did with ATO that had the same problem, it was not over applied, but it did not dry right. We stripped it, and put Wood Tux on it. That did the trick. If you can't get Wood Tux there, adding the drier should get you the same result. Remember, you don't want to apply to the point of having a film. If you do, it's too much. When you apply it, rub in into the wood, you are looking for a matte finish. Beth
