What's wrong with this guy ? ....
Beth n Rod replied to quickestimate's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Education is our best defense. Educate the customers why we do what we do and how we do it. Most have a variation of the same method using different chemicals and pressures but the results are the testament to their experience. Rod!~ -
Greg, I know the feeling, had it happen to me several times. I usually prop it up against something at the base like against the house or fence to keep it from teeter tottering as I raise it by walking it up from underneath. Problem is, trees! The branches get hung up in the ladder creating instability as one is trying to move it from place to place. If you are fortunate enough to have one on the site, use a second man to help with it guys. It can wrench your back otherwise. Rod!~

Wood Tux Wet "Bad Batch"
Beth n Rod replied to James's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Just to touch on a few things here: -The corrected batch does not separate so if you have pails that show this by looking at the side of them. -We have not had any complaints ... yet. We received the latest in july and have not had any complaints in the durability to date. All applications have dried well within the first hour of application but just to note, we are using titan sprayers to apply and back padding as needed. -The corrected batch has not required the need for a drier to be added to induce the correct drying time. If anyone is experiencing drying issues or have received pails where the product has obviously separated (click link for pic) then you should get this batch replaced. Don't even waste your time trying to follow the "fix" directions as you as a consumer are not obligated to do so. The label directions do not specify such methods and only apply to the application and expected dry time which is 1 1/2 hours to 8 hours depending on humidity and temperatures. http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/attachments/wood-cleaning-restoration-decks-fences-etc/7825d1182989906t-wtw-tips-wtwprobs07-001.jpg Hope this helps. Wood Tux Wet "Bad Batch"
Beth n Rod replied to James's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Can't speak for others, but ours are fine. A few were stripped and resealed. A few needed to be rubbed with spirits. Most we added drier to, and although the dry times still seemed longer than normal they did set up ok. Beth- 21 replies

staining deck with an airless
Beth n Rod replied to plainpainter's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Being a little familiar with Titan lvhp paint sprayers, I am curious as to the filter having anything to do with the fogging as well. Rod!~ -
Just saw this got voted upon and bumped to the top and decided to post a little tid bit. Bought a new aluminum ladder at Lowes the other day and it has dual leg levelers and a bubble site level. $229. For anyone who has to work on uneven terrain as much as we do, this is a must have. Rod!~

staining deck with an airless
Beth n Rod replied to plainpainter's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
We have been working on the "fog" part and it involves not only getting different tips but lowering the pressure as well. Even with the pumptek sprayers we were getting a mist and in those conditions where the wind is above 10mph we only apply directly. Yep, much slower but keeps you from worrying about cleaning someones car or the house next door. Rod!~ -
