Beth n Rod replied to PressurePros's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.

WARNING....Has this happened to you too?
Beth n Rod replied to Christopher's question in The Club House
In this age of the internet, one can never know who may find us here and look to see who is in their area available for hire. If you don't make a good impression here with your posting, you may not get the call. As Christopher has brought up, a customer used it as a bargaining chip against him and being unprepared for the encounter missed an opportunity but kept his prices up. this is becoming a trend as we ourselves have had numerous customers this year who have brought up that they have read about things and done some research and eluded to this bbs. In our area in particular, there are quite a number of well educated people we service of whom are researchers by the very nature of their work and it comes as no surprise when we are tested on our knowledge and basis for our recommendations with much of what has been posted on the internet in order to validate what they have read and to sort out the good from the undesirable. Ultimately, it reflects on all of us what a prospect reads before calling. Food for thought... Ask yourself this: Has your phone rang less? or more? Has the quality of your customer responses gone up demographically in terms of wealth or down? Now, ask yourself this one: Did I post something questionable or unethical somewhere that could attribute to this? The answers you come up with can be an indicator especially if you are a frequent poster or just a member who does not post much at all. Then you need to decide which is best for you and your business and what you need to change in order to present a better image towards those who may find you here. Rod!~ -
Pre-wetting is standard procedure on all surfaces you do not want any adverse effects on. Once the stain is set you cannot remove it because the stain is a result of the asphalt coating being changed in the areas of the stain. The only way to repair it is to put down a coat of the black top driveway re-coating product usually found in any of your local box stores. my .02 Rod!~ BTW, it's not the x-jet. No matter how you apply chems, there will be run-off.

Joe, You might want to add an extra filter if you just have one.....I believe we have two - I'll have to double check with Rod and ask him to share. Beth

There is a full face mask/respirator that you can get that will work the best. They start at around $90-$200. The fit is the most important. As a guide on other respirators marked TC-21C or TC-23C DM=Dust, Mist approved uses DFM=Dust, Fume, Mist approved uses HEPA=High Efficiency Particulate Arrestor approved for all the above plus radionuclides. I just made an enemy, and for some reason don't feel bad
Beth n Rod replied to Freshlook's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
No one likes the thought of having bought a lemon. And honesty is what this industry needs. It sounds like you did your best to inform them and even came under some fire as the unchosen one. It' not like you were offensive or bashing the competition. You were asked your opinion and unfortunately it opened pandoras box. The realtor in my guestimation is the referring entity and possibly explains the offensiveness. After reading your recount of the events, I would have to agree with your actions and support you in standing your ground. People need to know that excellence comes with a higher price tag. They can't buy a beamer for the price of a yugo so why should they expect anything less than a fair price for the value? Rod!~ -

We don't get out to the theaters as much as we'd like (business days are long) but we do a bit of cable and sometimes rent. Being fans of the Harry Potter series, we are looking forward to the next one this July. *thwip* Go Spidey! We'll be there, got the tickets already. Rod!~

Whats the best way to get pump off
Beth n Rod replied to jetstream1's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Sometimes the key can get a little torqued and make it harder to get off. My solution, 2 pry bars and alternating action. You can use a rubber mallet to assist in the process. Rod!~ -

Beth n Rod replied to Paul Kassander's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
This is a great opportunity to learn folks... if you are on the fence, jump off and get on board. Otherwise you'll kick yourself afterwards and say "I wish I had gone"... All of these events have huge amounts of education to offer. Go and you won't regret it. Beth -
You are all very, very welcome! :) Thank you all for helping to make this site what it is today. Beth

What will work for sealing a trailer floor
Beth n Rod replied to jetstream1's question in The Club House
Our local Pep Boys automotive center carries it. Like Lenny mentioned but I believe it is called Herculiner. We used it to completely line the interior or the sprinter van and our seal truck bed. One word of caution though...it takes several days to air out the fumes which are from the zylene in the product as a suspension agent. Rod!~ -
