  1. Ethics question- Referrals from Manufacturers

    Well put Rich! Beth
  2. Since our van has a 2-gun capabilities, I have recently gone to the new spiral flex hoses on it. I bought 4-100' lengths (2-blue, 2-gray). Anything less than 200' is too short. There are times I need 250'-300' but those are rarer occasions. The nice thing is that with the gray and blue combination, either operator can tell whose hose is which and keep them from getting tied up an so on. btw, the spiral flex hose is real sweet. It stays limper than the regular hose and is easier to manage overall. My crew is so pleased with them that they on their own have initiated a procedure to keep them clean by wiping them off as they roll them up. I was pleasantly surprised. Rod!~

Hey Tom, Are you going to be doing another class this fall? Rod!~
  7. Does Everyone Use Chemicals?

To use caustics for cleaning homes, you need to use a product that has corrosion inhibitors to avoid reacting with metals. As far as cleaning, the strength necessary to do the job is lower when using hot water to clean with ( <125*). Rod!~
  8. Thompsons

Some of their latest formulations have added some durability but it still is not a problem to remove. If it is either the clear or tinted versions, they are easy to strip. If it is the latex version, then you may have a little more difficulty. Rod!~

  10. Cambrea wood

Cambara is a hard wood, you won't get a long lasting finish. Set the expectation for annual maintenance. Use HD-80 (or similar) to remove the CWF, then neutralize as normal. We would use Wood Tux to seal it, but it seems to me TWP would also be a nice choice for this job. Beth
  11. Black & Decker Event April 14th in Baltimore

The one we know about is March 22nd....We're going...our buddy Jamie told us about it. You go and give feedback on PW'ers and get dinner on them, and you also get your choice of one of 4 tools or $75 cash as a thank you. Not sure about the April 14th date. Let us know! Beth

  13. Family show off :)

That's a wonderful gesture. It helps someone else, and it helps her manage a huge head of hair. I have seen her locks live and in person, and this child has an amazing head of hair. Or....she did! Great job Hanna! {{{hugs}}} Beth p.s. Madi loves your new look!
  14. Untreated 5 year old deck

I would suggest a percarbonate to clean with, and then neutralize. Drop the pressure a the tip to 1000psi. The cedar in particular will scar very easily. You don't need to strip in this case. Beth
  15. Grease ridden deck

Let us know how this goes. I would love to see some after pics...pretty please. You can do this. You may swear you will never touch wood again afterwards, but I know you can do it. Beth

  19. wtf?

Greeting - It's to help get the shy guys to post. :) The rules - went in to effect recently and once you agree to them per forum, you won't ever see them again. They protect us all from many things, and it was time we had them. Beth
  20. Grease ridden deck

That is pressure treated lumber, and based on the age it is treated with CCA. Touch up sanding may also help. If you do any sanding at all wear a respirator. CCA is carcinogenic. Beth
  21. Grease ridden deck

You will most likely not be able to get all the grease out. The wood will pull it pretty far into the substrate. Set the expectation you can lighten the stain, but not remove it. Drop the pressure to 1000 PSI by changing tips. No hot water. Let the chems do the work, and always neutralize. I would use a wood stripper, since you need that caustic action on that grease. Sodium hydroxide based product, oxalic or citric to neutralize. If you can't get a wood stripper, you may still be ok with your plan. You very well may have to knock off some fuzzies. That's the down side to stripping in this instance. Beth
