For quick reference I have added the dates next to your names. The system will not notify you this time (as I understand it) that it is time to renew since that feature was not available at the time and is not backward compatible, but was installed in August. From August forward of 06, you will get a notice with a link and the option of continuing your Site Support. Hope this helps. Beth

BIG Ipe project
Beth n Rod replied to RogerG's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I know you guys are happy that you're done with that job! :sunshine: Beth -
In addition to Pauls post I would add that we carry a couple of extra containers with lids to secure chems mixed at the job site and unused. Pump sprayers should be depressurized and the line cleared of chemical and transfered to a vented container for transportation, otherwise 2 things can happen: Pressurization from either a chemical reaction or heat generation from exposure to sun or the same chemical reaction can occur . Cargo shift in an emergency stop or situation avoidance can cause the trigger to become depressed allowing chemical to be sprayed unknowingly creating a hazard to the driver, passengers or other drivers. WoodTux on my windshield
Beth n Rod replied to Able Hands's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Also, you can use on the windshields any glass cleaner and one of the 4" scraper blades used for cleaning large surfaces. It removes the sealer with no problem. Just keep the glass wet while scraping and check the corners of the blade to assure it does not develop any burrs which could scratch the glass. HD and Lowes has them in the paint section. Use a strong degreaser like purple power or simple green on the rest of the vehicle to remove any remnants of overspray there. You will need to wax it again if you haven't done so in a while. Rod!~ -
Thank You Neil! :) Beth

Simple green should work. NOT HD! Too strong. Beth -
WoodTux on my windshield
Beth n Rod replied to Able Hands's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Use a degreaser and warm water. Let it soak. Take a blade to the windshield. Rod does this all the time. Works like a charm. I'm sure he will chime in here if I missed something. Beth -
Hmmmm...dunno. There is always grease....hot grease... Have you used one of these? Beth

When do you shop for the Holidays? Last minute? Black Friday? Online? In stores? I thought it would be fun to see how everyone handles the Holiday rush to buy. Beth

And the burner stays on why????
Beth n Rod replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Hey Alan, Once you resolve this problem, please share what the problem ended up being and how it was fixed. This kind of information can help others with equipment issues. Also thank you to both Paul and Bob for chiming in here offering suggestions. May it be resolved quickly and at a low cost! Good luck! Beth -
The December issue of Cleaner Times has begun to hit mailboxes. There is a special thanks to the contractors who participated in charitable projects in 2006. Hope you enjoy it! Beth
-
Personally, I believe thanks should be given to ALL who participated and who made donations to PWNA's CAA 2006. Non-members made contributions as well out of the goodness of their hearts. Thank you is a courtesy we all learn and should be made without reservation or need for membership. Just my .02! Beth

What's your opinion...
Beth n Rod replied to Mike Williamson's question in Residential Pressure Washing
To all: The word "Improper" is considered ambiguous and subject to opinion which will not protect you in court. The wording must be clear and unambiguous. Loose gutters, missing or degraded gutter fasteners, failing/loose caulk, insufficient/missing window seals are more specific because they describe a condition to which neglect, omission or disrepair is evident upon inspection. Improper is a term of judgment and since that opens up a plethora of possible opinions becomes irrelevant. Have an attorney look over your disclaimers to make sure that; State and federal laws allow you to use them. Correct any loose wording or loopholes that you may not be aware of which may come back to bite you in the behind in the event of a suit. Be specific on your liabilities as a contractor such as Workman's comp, liability insurance and what your company will cover including a cap on the amount which should be based upon an assessment of costs in your area. ex: $5,000 damage liability. Your insurance agent can help you with this one. Have a place for the client to sign off acknowledging they have read and understood them. Without this, the disclaimers are null and void. Take photos of any damage before you begin work and notify the homeowner of them. Damage waivers come in handy in these instances where you can inform the homeowner and have them sign off keeping you out of liability should your work there be capable of exacerbating the condition. If during the course of work damage is revealed or incurred, take photos of the damage and document the event while it is fresh in your mind. Contact the homeowner immediately of the situation and any agreements made must be signed off on. Keep a damage release waiver on hand and in the case of Jon Fife, since his client said it was not a problem, should he have had her sign off that she did not hold him liable for the incident, the husband could not come back and create a problem. need help finding tint
Beth n Rod replied to clean kentucky's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
What kind or color of tint are you looking for? The cans of tint commonly available are either clay/earth pigments along with titanium dioxide bases. The tint is specified by a color (ex:red, blue, black, yellow, and then into odd names) Rod!~
