How long till the US gets into the fray....
Beth n Rod replied to Beth n Rod's question in The Club House
Oh, I expect skepticism, and then some. Just yanking your chain Mike. ;) Everyone has a perspective which is based upon what they have experienced and that is the key word. Experienced. So many things are going on and unless one becomes aware they will never know and be accepting things as status quo. Btw, the petroleum wars are going to get worse from here on out. Much is about to happen. What is going on in Isreal is the next part. Korea is next. Rod!~ -
How long till the US gets into the fray....
Beth n Rod replied to Beth n Rod's question in The Club House
I think that these areas are not worth much money in oil rights so more than likely we will be standing by to pick up any scraps. Mike being the complete and total skeptic he is thinks I am full of it. That's ok, I don't care what people think about me, I am not here to benefit anyone else as they are not here to benefit me and I do not allow myself to be influenced but to keep an open mind at all times. I do know this...Mike's not alone. :taz: <---me! :) Rod!~ -
I agree with you that there is no turning back for me. Being self-employed has been the best move I could make. It does become a drain on your life as everything revolves around it and like was said, it seems like everywhere I go it is tied to work somehow. I have spent most of my life working for others and got sick of being passed up for someone else who was better at kissing (bleep) than I was. I cannot even bring myself to consider going back to work for someone else and realize full well that I have some growing to do in order to become better organized in my life and how the business affects it. It feels like time to let the reigns loose a little and start delegating. Rod!~

Thanks for the sentiments Gentlemen, my question still prevails to others who would read this. The fact that this is not uncommon is a good reason to post here your responses. What does it cost for you to be in business? (not in dollars but in scope) How is your business doing? What would you change now that you have some experience under your belt? Rod!~

If it's fun on two other BBS's it'll be fun here too. I believe Nathan also got it somewhere else. I also started a Movie thread. That should also be fun! If you're going to post in this thread, at least play and don't kill the thread. Feels like the first time - Foreigner

Fuzzies
Beth n Rod replied to bulletproof's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
This is the primary cause of the fuzzies. The deck was already grey and dry on the surface creating a problem that becomes evident with the cleaning. A little more pressure would have removed most of them but in the future you should keep this in mind that you will need to defur the deck after washing and also after stripping as well.Defurring can be accomplished by using specifically designed 3M type pads on a buffer, for the rails you can use a green scrubby. Watch for slivers of wood which can be drawn up by the pad and stick into your skin. Soda keg sprayers are great for spraying chems but I have not used them for spraying a sealer. Test your sprayers capability by filling and spraying the product back into the can. Determine if you are getting a good spray pattern in this case it should be a fan pattern. Cone patterns are acceptable too but if you don't get a definitive pattern then you may need to use a different sprayer. Devils advocate here just in case. Rod!~ -
It's wonderful having a baby. Sorry for being the realist but now you can look forward to the next 10 months of little sleep and who is getting up in the middle of the night to feed. The pics are great. I bet you are proud! 'For God has blessed you with a life to share in your own.' May it always be happy and full of love. Rod!~

***2 posters were edited for content due to personally directed comments by each other. There is no reason to get personal here and conduct ourselves in anything less than a polite and respectful manner. This is a debate set by a member and it was going well. All can see there are some people to whom this is of major importance to them by the amount of history and information given. Let's maintain our decorum and avoid getting personal. *** Rod!~

Who is going to PWNA throwdown in October?
Beth n Rod replied to EnviroClean's topic in Business Topics & Tips
Matt, thanks for telling us what ad popped up. I'll get Google to filter that out. If I don't see it, I don't know it was displayed. Beth -
Actually Ron, the very first version of TGS ( years ago), we had a page dedicated to listing other BBS's and had their logos displayes and links to the sites. You don't remember how that one guy (not naming him - but you and he go way back) who had the other BBS got so upset because the logo to your bbs was on the same page as the logo to his? That was a while ago... Beth :cup: :groovy2:

Not blocked, propagandism! Seek the answers for yourself and you shall appreciate them better. btw, sorry for the allusions to my perspective which as supported by others in this thread but just so you know, I will not be drawn out in public. I have not the need to justify to anyone else what I have experienced but encourage others to look deeper into things they would not normally concern themselves with and find out how extensive the control really is. The question was asked of my opinion on the Iraq situation and I have given all that I feel is necessary. The rest is up to others to decide if they wish to delve deeper and pursue the truth. I am only a messenger. The choice is for everyone else to make on what to do or not to do. Does anyone remember Eisenhower's departing speech? "Beware the Military Industrial Complex. Do not trust them or grant them power" Take it from there. Rod!~

I once caught a glimpse of the BBC which they only show about 1/2 hours worth late night. Noting the sarcasm here; The internet is not a media of reference I spoke of earlier. Newspaper and TV were. How many 3rd world countries have internet? Personally, I don't watch news much except to see the weather forecasts. As for searching the internet, I don't know about you but mine is related to our business for the most part. Dial up being the only available connection slows things up a bit which limits the amount of time I have to spend on it. With Business, Family and responsibilities always at the forefront, theres not much time left to sift through news sources to find anything worth reading. There is always drama and bad news in them, never focusing on our humanity and the good things people do but in the powerful leaders and the latest screw up of a celebrity. But I am just one person and what does the media care about me, you or the people who live next door? Nothing, unless they have done something newsworthy which always has the negatives attached. Thats the focus. Negativity is news. Ask yourself this: what percentage of the news is ever contributing to the positive outlook and encouragement of the world? Rod!~

Jason, No.... you were not. Stop trying to stir up trouble where it doesn't exist. Beth
-
By the time a person can sift through it, there is not enough left to be worth mentioning. You would be suprised to find out how much we are deprived of where the turth is concerned. After talking with other people from various countries that do not have influences made upon their news, the real story is quite different. ~I Clean~ Rod!~
