  1. I chose HD-80 because of the fact that it hadn't been done during its entire life. The deck was about 12 years old and never had been washed or sealed. Sodium Hydroxide is a strong oxidizer as well and can help to lighten weathered and aged wood. In combination with the neutralizer/brightener we got the results in the pics. Rod!~
  2. First deck strip

Matt.... Have you sealed it yet? DUH! Nevermind....must...have...more...coffee... :cup: Beth
  3. That stinks! I hate it when that kind of thing happens. Beth
  4. Beth or other MD contractors

We service all of those areas. Beth
  5. Assume HD80?

Yes. Do a test spot on the worst part of the floor and on a vertical area that is still intact. Try it at about 6 oz to the gallon on the HD-80. Beth
  6. Water in pump oil.

Only prob with the warranty is that when water gets into the oil, it is a sign to the mfr that you may have let the unit run in by pass too long or have no filter before the pump to keep debris out of it. Whether or not this is the case, you may want to know this going into a replacement issue with them. They will try to blame you for it in most cases. Rod!~
  7. SLHC, Do you mean the Endure? We have a home and deck coming up, and the deck is getting Endure on it. I'll have to let youkow what we think. Anyone else used it yet? Beth
  8. A thread for Ipe lovers

That floor looks like cedar, not ipe...? Lots of knots... Beth
  9. You might also wait till the seedlings are a little more mature, then do it. Showing care for the new seedlings by waiting for a month or so, might be the ticket. We have been in this place several times. We practically beg folks to wait till we are done to plant it, but if they insist, we suggest they wait till they are established a little. If they still insist it be done sooner, get them to sign that you are not responsible, even with the greatest of care, things can happen. I agree with Rich, do it early in the day. Beth p.s. rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse
  10. Who's washing

    Estimating...washing...sealing!
  11. Hi Larry, Great seeing you here. Thanks for posting. Beth :groovy3:
  12. Thank you to our TGS Site Supporters!

    Thank you "Hoseguy" Bob! Beth
  13. Upper Marlboro, MD. 20772 - Cedar Deck Clean and seal a cedar deck. If interested, contact me for details. Beth
  14. You're right. That's gross! Great work. Hey anyone else got pics of turning a wooden "frog" into a wooden "prince"? Beth
  15. It took 2 hours to wash and 2-1/2 to seal. 829 sqft including the arbor. Raised deck with no steps. The thing was tilted though in construction. As you walk towards the farthest point, you will be walking down-hill. Off level by about 10". Rod!~
  16. Degafreed, It is Wood Tux, but it is the "clear" (named Crystal) that was out a few years back. We had a pail left, they wanted a clear and were selling the house. I don't think ESI makes a clear any longer. Rod did this deck with one of our employee's. I'll ask him how long he was on it. Beth
  17. Here's a deck we sealed today...repeat customer. This deck was sealed with Sikkens SRD in Cedar tone. Beth
  18. Anyone else up for contests?

A couple of the members who are into wood (Yaz and Philip) had the idea to have a deck photo contest...you roof, flatwork, hood, fleet and building washing guys should not feel left out! Why not start contests of your own? Just a suggestion... Beth
  19. Philip copy the other part you outlined too.... Let's get it all in here and get this going. Volunteers? Beth
  20. A thread for Ipe lovers

Hey Jim, Put up some finished shots too. :) Ken you too. I know you have some. Beth
  21. If....

If you could make a wish and have a specific gadget that would help in some situation...what would it be if you could buy it now? Feel free to be creative if it doesn't actually exist (that you know of) yet. Rod!~ ps, my wish is for some kind of roller hose guide that I could fold/move/collapse it out of the way when not in use in our Sprinter van. Or...a roller track mount for my skid unit in the back so I could pop a couple of locks and roll the unit out of the back (all 800lb's) for access. Perhaps a set of legs would drop down to support the extra weight with wheels on them for maneuvering.
  22. A thread for Ipe lovers

I love the spiral stairs! Beth
  23. A thread for Ipe lovers

Paul, send it over and I'll post it for you if you are having difficulty. There are directions in the FAQ area if you feel up to browsing. Basically, if you click Go Advanced instead of using the quick reply, then scroll down to "manage attchments" click that, then browse to the file and click upload....should be all set. Beth
  24. Here's another shot of the deck. Beth
