PT lumber deck we sealed today
Beth n Rod replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
The product we uesed last time we no longer use. It was Menco's Menwood. We saw this deck two years ago...in fact we have seen it three times, and the home they lived in before this one, we did once as well. Beth -
Extreme Solution 38 & 80
Beth n Rod replied to RCBill's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Jimmy, We use HD-80 all the time at this strength. The key is to wet the shrubs and keep wetting them during the process. Lots of water. Dilution on the surrounding area is very important. This is the only URL I have for the manufacturer: http://www.esproducts.net/ Happy Spring!:dancing: :sunshine: Beth -
How are you doing Chuck? I'll bet you've seen more spring time down your way than we have so far. :sunshine: Hope all is well with you! Beth :groovy2:

I can't find our area if I zoom in too far, at least I am in Maryland now. I was out in the ocean by Bermuda before. Beth

Thanks Philip, I am thinking about designing one and having it made using 8-10 gauge steel to support the skid unit. I haven't been able to find much in the way of shorter systems to accomodate the skid only and not the entire cargo area online. Rod!~

That is essentially what efc-38 does. Instead of sodium hydroxide, it is sodium metasilicate mixed with the percarbonate. (according to the msds) Rod!~

Estimate Sales Pitch and Strategy
Beth n Rod replied to Mike Stahmer's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Hey Celeste, is your MGB running? Did you get it fixed? If you did you owe me a ride! :) Beth -
In a strong enough concentration, oxalic can etch concrete. If you are removing rust be careful with that. Rinsing will help this. Look for foaming or fizzing. If it is acting on the lime, you may see this, usually when the concentrations are high. Sometimes several applications are necessary. Hope this helps. :) Beth

Estimate Sales Pitch and Strategy
Beth n Rod replied to Mike Stahmer's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
My sister had an MGB many many years ago...during her college years. Gosh...I want to say that was the late 60's early 70's... in any event, cute little car, but hers was a hard top, not a rag top. I always loved riding in it. Beth -

Estimate Sales Pitch and Strategy
Beth n Rod replied to Mike Stahmer's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Where we are (DC Area) if it is a scheduled appointment, clean is what they get and they pretty much expect it. If it is fit in during the work day, then they get us as we are. Both seem to work. One thing I'll say, is that when they see us clean then meet us when we work, they get a real chuckle out of how different we look. It's always a fun conversation when you tell them the shirt was washed last night.... Beth -
Bleach and wood, revisited...
Beth n Rod replied to RPetry's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
They are both strong oxidizing agents but not the same chemical. The sudonym - Bleach is a sodium hypochlorite solution in water. Chlorine is also known as Bertholate and Dichlorine which starts as a gas. A combination of chemicals utilizes chlorine to make bleach. Bleach means literally 'to whiten or remove color'. Rod!~ -
Barry, Consider getting a part time flexible job, and trying to ease into PWing with the spring season. A part time job may offer a little security and still enough flexibility for you to launch in the spring. Food for thought. Beth

Well, I'll say this, that is not an article we want in the Library Forum here. That's all I'm saying....it was amusing and insulting at the same time. Does that make it entertaining? Beth

I had one that was just plain bad. It was less then 6 weeks into its years use when the hose blew. It came from inside out and was kinda funny. It made the hose fly up in the air forming an arc and watering the driveway. I just had to figure out what was causing the shadow and funny sound behind me before I finally turned to see it. I let go of the trigger and the hose just dropped out of sight. Pulled the trigger again to verify what I thought I just saw. Fortunately, I was doing the final rinse on a house wash and had a garden hose to finish with. Rod!~
