  2. 2 gun powerwashers.

Correct. Great unit and the set up saves time. I have a 225gal tank for supply and 2 reels with 200'@ along with a 150' supply hose. Best investment we've made next to the Freightliner Sprinter van it is mounted in.Rod~
  3. Rain gear

I am so looking for a good supplier of pants that the crotch doesnt split out of the first time I climb a ladder and get onto a raised deck. I have about 2 dozen jackets that range from clean to dirty that are still in great condition but the pants blow out in less than a day. The longest I have been able to get a pair to last before a blow out is about 1 week (and that was because I didnt wear them for that time period! lol ). We continue to use them but after a point whats the use? They dont keep that area dry anymore so in the trash they go. One employee had brought in a pair of blue ones and they were about 10mil which I thought would not last for 10 minutes. Surprisingly though, he used them all season and never had a problem with a blow out in the pants. :taz: Whats up with that! Rod~

I'll just bet you have a gallon of ice cold milk standing by too! For test purposes of course. ;) Beth

Ask your CPA. If you are entitled to a deduction, he/she should know. Beth
  6. How do YOU clean..?

I think there is clarification needed in the difference between stripping and washing... The difference is if you are not removing a stain/sealer that has reached the point of failure, you are not stripping. You are in effect cleaning. Take note that a product like HD-80 can be used at any strength. I use it is a cleaner which works very well. The dwell time is shorter for wash applications and the concentration is much lower at about 2oz./gal yet it kills mold and mildew and helps to lift off the old dead wood fibers that make themselves present as the gray effect we see in the pic above. I have found that it also helps in those cases where a clear sealer has not been evenly applied and the wood has turned darker in the unprotected areas, a second application of HD-80 will help to lighten them to provide a better looking overall result. btw...Sodium hydroxide in technical terms is another type of wood bleach. The other benefit is that if there is anything on the wood that would require more than bleach or acid, the cleaner would take care of it in the same application. EFC-38 will provide the same results and is great if there are delicate plants or streams nearby. Neutralization is still necessary and it helps the tannin bleeds under nails in the fence fade away making whole job look more like a new construction as well. I like to point out that Certification courses test that the proper method of wood restoration is a 2 step method...cleaner or stripper followed by a brightener/neutralizer. fyi Rod~

Before using an x-jet with something like HD-80 I would encourage you to call Russell at the number he provided. Beth

Making fun of those who bake sweet things will not get you put on the cookie list....you'll get a lump of coal instead. ;) Beth :groovy3:

Time to revive this thread...it's cookie season!!!!! I love this link: http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/12_days_of_cookies/ Beth
  11. How do YOU clean..?

Not necessarily. Depends on the strength of the product, depends on the dwell time...and the person who is doing the job. Pro's who know how to use a tool well can get some wonderful results. You do it with bleach, we do it with SH quite often as well. ;) We would hit this with HD-80 at 2-3 oz per gallon, wash, then apply Citralic at about 4-6 ox per gallon, then rinse. You will have a real short dwell time on that fence if nothing has ever been done to it. Just my .02... Beth
  12. How do YOU clean..?

I agree. This is what we would do also. It is NOT overkiil. It's a powder, you can mix it to the strength you need. HD-80 followed by Citralic acid. Beth

Gee...I was under the impression that Cabot's SPF was new this year - 2005. It's an acrylic, so we don't use it. Thought about it, but decided not to. We don't use Wolman's Extreme anymore.....used to. It was discontinued in the northern states, due to issues with cracking and peeling....again, it's an acrylic and can get messy in northern climates. We like Sikkens' SRD and have also applied the DEK. We also like Cabot's Australian Timber Oil. Our primary product, is Wood Tux. Beth

What are you using? Are you saying you rinse the wood prior to sealing on the same day you apply the sealer or stain. Beth

How do I create and vote in polls? You may notice that some threads on this forum also include a section where you can vote on an issue or question. These threads are called 'polls' and this is how to create them: Creating a new poll When you post a new thread, you may have the option to also create a poll. This function allows you to ask a question and specify a number of possible responses. Other members will then be able to vote for the response they wish, and the results of the voting will be displayed in the thread. An example poll might be: What is your favorite color? Red Blue Yellow Green Sky-blue pink with yellow spots To create a poll when you post a new thread, simply click the 'Yes! post a poll' checkbox at the bottom of the page, and set the number of possible responses you want to include. When you click the submit button, you will be taken to the poll creation page, where you can specify the question and the list of responses you want to include. You may also want to specify a time limit for the poll, so that (for example) it only stays open for voting for a week. Voting in and viewing a poll To vote in a poll, simply select which option you want to vote for, and click the [Vote!] button. You may view the current results for a poll before you vote by clicking the 'View Results' link. Voting in a poll is entirely optional. You may vote for any of the available options, or cast no vote at all. Generally, once you have voted in a poll, you will not be able to change your vote later, so place your vote carefully!

I pointed that out in another poll thread but it seems to have been missed. Beth
  18. 2 gun powerwashers.

On our Hydrotek, the part that makes it a two gun unit is under the coils where the temp switch is that leads to the two guns. It has a mercury line temp sensor and two hose connections on it. John, not that I know of but I am sure Hydrotek would be able to spec one up for you. Rod~

For those who do not rinse... Are you aware that Oxalic acid is poisonous and causes sterility? Do you also realize the liability you expose yourselves to by knowingly leaving this chemical exposed for people and pets to come into contact with? I dont look for anyone to answer here, but I thought it would be something to seriously consider. Rod~
  23. To accomodate the higher octane, it is necessary to adjust the carburetor settings to run less lean and add more air to the mix to acheive better combustion if you are having this problem. The factory preset on Honda, Vanguard and Kohler engines will accomodate premium gas...I own each. Octane rating is a number relating to the 'anti knock' properties in fuel that is added to it. It is what helps the engine to run smoother because of the oily paraffin hydrocarbons that are added to normal gas (heptane) to produce the anti knock quality we can choose at the pump. Fuel additives can provide some benefit but I have found in small engines they are unnecessary because of the high heat generated after running a few minutes. These engines do not have the same type of cooling system that vehicles do and become very hot from induction allowing the fuel to burn quite well and without resulting in carbon deposits. These are formed when the engine is only run for short periods of time and are not allowed to reach operating temperature and cannot sufficiently burn off the excess hydrocarbons in the fuel. This could become a good maintenance discusion in another thread. Rod~

10 minutes or so..... it just depends. Beth
  25. The thread title started off regarding pressure washers, but vehicles were added in by various posters. The point is, we are discussing engines right? We use diesel in the Hydrotek's burners, just have not tried Kerosene. We use diesel in the Sprinter for obvious reasons. Our other trucks are gas. Our engines on the Hydrotek's, like the gas engines in two of the trucks, get premium fuel. Hope this is clearer. Beth
