Hey, we all have days like that. Have a great weekend! Rent movies. Eat junk food. Chill out. When the rain stops, hit the ground running refreshed. Beth

Sometimes what people will say about a quote, and what they decide are just not the same. It may well have been a resonable quote, but what I think here is that the person saw an opportunity to help someone who had a need - to learn - and felt using her job was a way of helping. From what you have described, I think that's all it was. That, and it was not affordable for her to begin with and she didn't know until she got the quote. Then she didn't want to hurt your feelings. Really, the only person who can decide to get work done is the owner. Hard closes can backfire. Softer closes rarely do. Put your info out there, and let them work at closing themselves. Beth

No, a palm orbital. Comes in a little black case...or did a few years back. We have several. I don't know if they still make them. They take a hook and loop paper. Beth

Jim, I know you don't like it, but you can apply SRD up to 21% WMC. Hope this helps. (not trying to ruffle your feathers, just trying to help) This is a touchy year weather wise. No doubt. Beth

  18. Contractors License

Just remember that licensing doesn't yield professinal results. You can be unlicensed and have excellent results, likewise you can be licensed and have less than great results. Licensing is the fulfillment of a governmental requirement, not proof that you are skilled at your craft. As you dot your i's and cross your t's withthe state you are in, make sure you fine tune your skills. Just my .02 Beth

Degafreed, You are comparing apples, oranges and pears. EFC-38 is a percarb with a light duty striper blended in. F-10 is a percarb. F-18 is a potassium hydroxide based stripper. ALL OF THESE need to be neutralized after you use them on wood. Different tools for different jobs. What is it you need to tackle? Beth
  23. How many out there work with teak? We work with it quite a bit and really love this wood. See it most often as furniture. What are you putting on the teak? How often? What are you doing for cleaning? About a year and a half back, we were fortunate enough to find some furniture very, very, very used and neglected - for a song. Needless to say we brought it home and restored it. It was never cared for, was so grey it was black, had algae, and in a prio life had potted plants resting on it. ICK. The chair I am about to post a pic of, had Cabot's Australian Timber Oil put on it 13 months ago. (note: no severe mildew infestation) This April we gave it a very light percarb wash, about 2-3 oz per gallon, very light neutralization. Done with a soap tip. No additional sealer was put on this chair. You guys who are thinking of filming hardwood will want to click these photos... Rod experimented on this chair, and added a little more product, not alot, but just enough for a slight film. Again, this was aged, already shrank, etc. Thoughts??? Beth
