Howard, You know we're here for the long haul. By the way it will be great seeing you this weekend for the round table...you still attending? Hope so!!! :) Beth :groovy3:

Celeste your formula sounds right to me. Anyone who is reading this and wants to hold a round table - just do it. Pick a date about a month out, find a location - restaurants are great - they are free... Book a date and time and start with a conservative number - say 10. You can always end up with more people, and 10 is a good base. Go thru phone books. Call everyone. Follow up with email or fax w/ info about the meeting. Go online asn surf for companies in your area within3-5 hours of drive time. Invite them. Use the PWNA member directory at www.pwna.org to find people you may not have found in phone books or online. Get others in the area who are traveling to help promote your event locally in their area - their phone book is different than yours is. Contact a couple vendors and ask them to bring equipment to show and to talk about troublshooting or something that can help folks in the field. Most are happy to do it. Beth p.s. just do it... you'll be glad you did. They are fun!

Have not yet tried F-18 on Sikkens Cetol DEK product. We have stripped 5 layers in public at a demo and 7 in the field with HD-80. Sikkend Cetol DEK is very very very hard to remove. HD-80 melted it. Rod? Care to add your .02? Beth

Thanks Ron, I know you can understand. You began ***, then turned it over. You know what it can be like... And yes, it's difficult and frustrating to watch, and again I have offered to help.... Still waiting to hear... Beth
-
Robert, We have used it at that strength. Please understand it is not just about being vested in HD-80, we have field time with it all the way back to testing - prior to release. We have a thorough understanding of what it will do. We get great results with both. But by no means is HD-80 a loser. The right tool for the right job... Beth:cool:

Robert, We are still working with F-18 and currently waiting on warm weather to continue... More to come... Rod~

Some people here are members, and some are non-members who are thinking of joining or want to help in some way. It's an individual choice. I put the suggestion out there to those who would choose to be a part of the solution. It's up to each of us to decide if we want to do so or not, and really no one should be thought of less for not helping or joining or for helping or joining. Just my .02...and no offense taken Mike ;) Jon, I have no admin access over there, have not since I resigned as a BOD member, but to answer your question, there are settings in the ACP that will allow you to have to verify a member prior to thier being able to post. This could become a very exhaustive effort for volunteers when the season gets busy and people are suddenly working 60 hour weeks. It has some positive merit to it too, but all I'll say is sometimes it is better not to reinvent the wheel or add a process. No other BBS is doing it. There may be a good reason for it. Admin nightmare...maybe. Have never done it, but given what I do know of bbs administration, it could be a pitfall. Not saying it wiil be, just it could be. I have many ideas on how to imporve the BBS over there, and I offered in the thread - twice - before it was pulled, to help with the BBS efforts. We'll see if they bring me onto the committee to help the BBS. It sickens me to see that BBS in the condition it is in, I explained it in the thread that got yanked, all I'll say here is I donated an insane amount of time. I would help them in a heartbeat if they asked. I'll be there for them. Beth :groovy2:

Two tone or NOT two tone....
Beth n Rod replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Carlos, www.seedirtrun.com go to the gallery and click on two tone. There is a number of them for you to look at. Rod~ -
If anyone has ideas about how to help the PWNA resolve this, please propose them constructively. All I'm going to say, is even leaders of a non-profit org are human. BBS's are a huge challenge to manage. They have learned that. Let's all help them resolve this. They are trying to better the org, but they are a small group of people who need volunteer assistance. Send them your constructive ideas. Beth

only a few bod members are going out. Their term is up this year and I think there are 3-5 spots to fill. Rod~

commercial contracts info needed
Beth n Rod replied to Mike Sweerin's topic in Construction Cleaning
Hey Carlos.... Pretty please ;) Beth@seedirtrun.com Many thanks.... Beth :groovy: -
The BOD call is the second Tuesday of each month at 9am. I doubt they will make a decision today, but I am sure things will be discussed and worked on going forward. Only three people are elected per year. The majority of the BOD remains the same. However, the President can fill a vacancy as needed at any time during the year. Also in the past I have seen that things decided by a committee still need to pass a BOD vote. This is one reason people think it takes so long. A committee may meet infrequently (compared to the BOD) and then the chair has to take it to the next BOD call. It's easy to learn if anything has changed on the BBS, ask a non-member if they see fewer forums or excluded from posting where they used to be able to. ;) Beth

Sprayer for using ready seal stain
Beth n Rod replied to mmpjr7's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Carlos, Spraying and then back rolling can be fine depending on the product being applied. Our method of choice is stain pads for back padding. The reason is that is helps to keep puddles from forming and it works the product into the wood. Drawback to padding is that it can 'pull' the stain once it has dried to a point or spread it too thin. Technique is required here, but it isnt hard to develop. Rollers and I dont get along. I end up making more of a mess with them then the homeowners do! :) A draw back to rollers is that it can leave air bubbles in the finish and if it cures fast in the heat, it can cause a blistering effect and the stain will fail quicker with this condition. Much of the wood in this area is not kind to the nap on the rollers and frays them quite easily. Pads and brushes are our application detailers. Rod~ -
