  2. Basement. Ours is the basement. It was the basement from hell, but it is going to be wonderful when we are done. OLD basement..... 1. nasty drop ceiling with those oh so tasteful white acoustic tiles 2. that flimsy wood paneling wannabe stuff, in a dark enough brown to make the walls shrink 3. stunning fluorescent lighting fixtures 4. a cobbled together book case with boxy shelves of no particular height that did not adjust and were painted brick red 5. and of course, 20+ year old carpeting NEW basement will have.... 1. DRYWALL ceiling.... (it will be higher because the drop ceiling lost us several inches) 2. ....with recessed lighting and accents lights, all on dimmer switches 3. Drywall on walls, painted a very light color 4. radiant heating under..... 5. ...new laminate flooring (also very light, bamboo) 6. custom storage of book shelves and cabinets on 3 walls (buying them unfinished, and finishing them ourselves due to lack of time to do it all by hand) Beth
  3. hello everyone can u help with a ?

There are a number of different threads regarding this and the questions that might ensue from just a couple of answer in this one. I suggest you also look into adding detergent and rinse aids. These help to remove mold and mildew faster and easier than just bleach alone and without needing to rinse till the second coming (if you know what I mean). Rod!~

  19. Big storm on the way

This is gong to be another year for record snowfalls, just not in our area I hope.... Beth
  20. Holy crap! How the heck did you manage that?!?!?! Do what the Dr says please, and listen to your wife. GET WELL SOON! Beth
  21. [Rod posting] Yikes, that looks like a time consumer to me. $3300?!?!? With all the screens and the possibility of them being damaged by the wash process alone, Whoever bid this and won is going to hate themselves afterwords. Rod!~
  22. Which is why it would not surprise me if some hack were to quote 500 bucks... Beth
  23. Big storm on the way

Be safe out there Rick. We didn't get much here, 2-4 was called for and I think we have about 3. Our county has a 2 hour school delay. I know other areas were much harder hit. After last year here, we feel pretty good about only getting what we did, although I have to say one large snowfall is always kinda nice. Last year we had three major storms back to back wallop the DC area, and each time we were in the heaviest accumulation - the eye of the storm. Pack a nice hot thermos of coffee or coco to take in the truck while you plow. Be warm, be safe. Beth :cup:
  24. Our prayers go out to the families in the Tuscon Shooting

If people IGNORE him, he will eventually slip into obscurity. He seeks attention. He wants press. Don't give him any and he will move on. He recently threatened to protest at a local area high school here that was performing "The Laramie Project" and believe me, lots of parents were outraged. A good friend of mine is in a Harley club, and they planned to ride and gun their engines to drown him out, they got a permit to protest themselves at the same time, etc. The Westboro group didn't show up. My guess is they made a big stink to get in the media, but figured that it was too small and insignificant of an event to actually attend. BUT....since the media knew, they got press even though they were NOT THERE. We need to ignore the hate mongering idiots. Beth
  25. Very New!!!!!

I WISH there had been such a book. Best advice I can give you....read, read, read....and ask questions. BUT an understanding of basic business practices is very important. Check your local college for classes. Attend seminars, and maybe go to a PWNA convention this fall. It's a good start. Beth
