Jon is DA MAN! Thanks Jon! :)

Yes you can use EFC-38 to wash a house. It will work. :)
OFF SIDES is going to be even better but I don't have a ship date yet.

Extreme Solutions has a new product, not yet released called OFF SIDES that would do the trick. But the best I can tell you is the expected release date is this spring. I'll ask the manufacturer if they can pin that down further. I know that it is currently being tested.
For decks, cedar and log homes, fences and the like, look at HD-80, EFC-38 and Citralic acid. They're tops.

Thanks John! :)

What type of residential pressure washing are you doing? What's the strangest thing someone ever asked you to clean? Share it here.
Beth
;)
p.s. we sometimes get calls to wash the inside of chimneys out... we send those to the sweeps....

What types of wood have you worked with? What have been your biggest challenges about working with them? Vote for as many species as you need to, and share your restoration thoughts about the differences here.

Thanks Morgan,
We appreciate your support. Our goal is to make this a valuable resource for anyone who wishes to browse here. The reason we put the Hot Links page up, is so that people would have a place to go to find other BBS's quickly and to search for information. Just the other day a gentleman told me he had found a BBS he didn't know about from that page. I was so happy he had!
Again, thanks and welcome!

Latex...are you sure it's not paint?
Normally, to apply another coat, you will want to give it a gentle wash with a percarboante cleaner like EFC-38, then you can recoat it. I would check to see how many coats and what the product is if you can, since you don't want too many layers on the wood. After a point, you'll need to strip and recoat.

Jeff,
Is it a glossy looking stain or a dull looking stain? Any way you can find out about it?
HD-80 will strip just about anything off, but if they have painted it, it takes some but not all paints off. If they have a deck stain on there, you're safe with HD-80 and Citralic to brighten.
You can apply with a pump up sprayer, and use a spray shield to break the wind flow.
Sure hope this helps. Also, I have heard ong the street that stripping charges run anywhere from 1.20 per sq. ft. to 2.40 depending on what you're stripping. Some things take longer than others, the dwell time can vary, and time is money.

It's all coming OFF!
Sometimes seeing is believing. If you're one of those who have to see for yourself that a product truly does work, here's your chance to see for yourself.
Are you curious about Extreme Solutions products HD-80? EFC-38? Citralic Acid? Have you read the comments online and seen the photos, but would rather see for yourself?
We'll be stripping Sikkens Cetol, BEHR, Cabot, CWF, Wolman Extreme, and many oil based products such as Men-Wood, Wolman F&P, and Ready Seal.
You'll see HD-80 working on the toughest of stains, and you'll also see EFC-38 working on many oil based products.
So if you're going to be in Las Vegas, don't miss the product demonstrations.

Welcome Reed!
Chuck, I'll have to look and see how to set it up. I'll get back to you....
Beth
p.s. have fun in here. can't wait to see the posting take off!

We do. I can be a good add on and a way to keep a customer from using someone who might try to upsell pressure washing.

Windows are something to learn all by themselves....
Usually there is film on them, but sometimes they run out of film and you have to remove spray paint. Done right, windows don't even look like they are there.

Ok, I think it's set now. :)

Yes! We do. We do alot with construction clean up. There are various types of construction clean up, residential and commercial and also interior and exterior. There is good revenue in commercial clean up, although the long term contracts for residential are attractive. We have not yet handled a housing project from start to finish, but we have been approched.
One thing folks don't realize is that it is heavy duty cleaning. There is more to it than just dusting and sweeping. The guys you're working behind leave wonderful presents for you, like glue on the walls, the floor, the fixtures, grout everywhere, etc.

Try the avatar again Chuck. Should work now. :)

Whooops! Must have missed a setting. Let me see if I can change it. :)

Thank you, Chuck!
Hey, put up an avatar. See if I set it up right... I hope I did...

Why sure! We can build a fire, pop some popcorn, and have cocoa. Watch the plows go buy....eventually. Meanwhile, we're all warm here and planning a booming season.

Come on in folks! :)

Well, I still have not figured out how I get it done. I think it comes from being in high tech sales for 14 years. Talk about a pressure cooker. I can say this...get organized (if you can...) and learn to prioritize and manage your time... and learn that if you don't get to something it will not be the end of the world.
