I have a Mi-T-M 2403 and it is an EXCELLENT unit. Honda 13 hp . They use a serpintine belt that runs down to a magneto discharge unit that fires the burner, blower and pump. They are very compact and thier cusomer service is the best in the industry I have ever experienced. The only weakness is the belt for the unit. Keep a spare, they are a 4 rib serpentine and are durable like a cars serpintine . Ony thing to to change one out you have to unbolt the pump to get to the belt once you do it it can be done in 20 mins with a wrench and a 4.5mm long handles allen wrench. I called for info on mine and had 2 servcice techs answer it and one even called back to see if we had the machine back up and running and if we needed any further help.
Is that the machine that uses a Briggs flywheel and mag coil for ignition, and the belt goes through a cutout in the flange of the Faip pump?

No, it's trapped pressure...it's got an outlet piston...
-
The outlet piston was stuck. After freeing it the bogging of the engine seemed to be resolved. I also took Paul's advice and fixed a couple leaks down the line. The problem now is that there are no leaks but the unloader is cycling every couple seconds. Any thoughts on this matter? If you've made sure ALL downstream leaks are fixed, then check this...
Back the knob off enough to move the spring up a bit. Put a wrench on the flats below the spring and take it out. Ther should be o rings on the piston at the end of the stem. If there aren't or if they're torn, a couple of quick coupler o rings will fit. Can't recall ATM whether the 1/4 or 3/8 fit, but one of them does. Grease it up and put it back in.

Don, you've got some big feet! Just kidding - that looks painful.Beth
You know what they say about guys with big feet, don't you?...
Big shoes.....:D
-
Take the outlet fitting off and check to see that the piston inside moves freely, and that the o ring is intact. Either will cause your unloader to act as a regulator.

Heck, if I were close enough, I'd give you that for the pump and engine and trash the rest...

Rebuilding the back end can be time consuming, but can be done. I'm not sure what the Cat crankcase costs, but it ain't cheap. I'll call and get a price tomorrow, and let you know.
Here's the service manual...

Is that a forced air gas burner as opposed to a natural draft type? If so, the plate to mount the oil burner may already be in place
-
Now the question is why the propane burners don't stay running long enough. This has me scrathing my head for answers. What do you mean? Running out of fuel? Cutting off before desired temperature is reached? Falling apart?
John, do you have a parts breakdown on your units?
-
John, you'd have to go to the heater manufacturer and get the proper head to mount an oil burner on. Then you'd need oil burners, fuel lines, a tank, and wiring for either 120 or 12 volts. Do you know who made the heaters? Call me if you like, I can get most of what you need.

Be careful, his prices might start going up if he gets too much press....lol!Nah...I'm here to help...anytime.

Russ doesnt know I'm stopping by yet.Boy, I'll bet he's going to be surprised...:D

Butyl cleaners are good for burn residue...I used to clean the glass in my Buckstove with it. Either that, or Windex and a raxor blade. The butyl made the crusty black film rinse right off.
Look for cleaners (Purple Power, Krud Kutter, Greased Lightnin', etc.) with any of these chemical names listed in the ingredients panel:
Synonyms: .beta.-Butoxyethanol, 111-76-2, 2-Butossi-etanolo, 2-Butoxy-1-ethanolButossi-etanolo [italian], 2-, 2-Butoxy-aethanol, 2-Butoxy-aethanol [German], 2-Butoxyethanol, 2-Butoxyethanol (ethylene glycol monobutyl ether), 3-Oxa-1-heptanol, 4-01-00-02380 (Beilstein Handbook Reference), 52663-57-7, AI3-09903, AI3-0993, BRN 1732511, BuCs, Butoksyetylowy alkohol, Butoksyetylowy alkohol [Polish], Butoxyethanol, Butoxyethanol, 2-, Butyglycol (FRENCH, GERMAN), Butyl cellosolve, Butyl cellu-sol, Butyl glycol, Butyl Oxitol, Butylcelosolv [Czech], Butylglycol [French,German], Caswell No. 121, CCRIS 5985, Chimec NR, Dowanol EB, EGBE, EGMBE, EINECS 203-905-0, Ektasolve EB, EPA Pesticide Chemical Code 011501, Eter monobutilico del etilenglicol [spanish], Ethanol, 2-butoxy-, Ether monobutylique de l'ethyleneglycol [French], Ethylene glycol butyl ether, Ethylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether, Ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, Ethylene glycol monobutyl ether [uN2369] [Keep away from food], Ethylene glycol n-butyl ether, Ethylene glycol, monobutyl ether, Gafcol EB, Glycol butyl ether, Glycol ether EB, Glycol monobutyl ether, HSDB 538, Jeffersol EB, LS-539, Monobutyl ether of ethylene glycol, Monobutyl ethylene glycol ether, Monobutyl glycol ether, n-Butoxyethanol, NSC 60759, NSC60759, O-Butyl ethylene glycol, Poly-Solv EB, UN2369, ZINC01690437
The more butyl, the better, although it's hard if not impossible to tell by a retail label ( go to the manufacturers' websites and see if you can get an MSDS on the product.)
...or call me. I've got a 6% butyl, and a butyl / caustic mix.

Burns from firework snakes? Might have to etch with acid to get them out.

1965 Chevy Impala SS, 327 / 300, Powerglide.

The way the burners are configured are completely different. The oil burner bolts to the bulkhead, where a gas burner sets in the bottom of an open bulkhead. There are forced air gas burners available, but you'd need a power source to run it, and it'd be expensive to buy.

I wouldn't get anything on those cars...especially if there's a chance of drying.
You'll be washing and shammying the whole lot...for free.

I carry BD20 in 55 gallon drum kits. It's a butyl based degreaser similar to Simple Green.

I have them available...
1/2" - $6.81
3/4" - $9.30
1" - $13.29

Burning ants is no less cruel to tham than me having to take my 10 year old daughter to a Jonas Bros. concert. I had no clue that 20000 screaming girls between 10 and 15 could be so loud. When we walked out I felt like telling the parents waiting at the gate for their daughters they were cowards. Boy, I wish I would have taken ear plugs.Kinda felt like an ant under a magnifying glass, huh?...:D

Death to the ants! :D

Can you get the collar slid back? Get a small screwdriver and pop the retaining ring out of the end, and the collar will slide forward and off. Your balls will fall out, so don't step on them...wait...the bearings will fall out. Then maybe you can get a pipe wrench or socket on it.
