Only product I ever used was Ready Seal, and it works perfectly. So Im sticking with it, if it aint broke, dont fix it. -
A couple months later, and 3 more people asked me about doing an estimate, I turned down all 3 because they had Hardi Plank. Like I said before, I'll never touch it again, cost me about $900 out of my pocket to get it "fixed". So yall be careful, awesome information by the way Len, thanks!

I haven't read every post on this, but here is my take on it. When I started out, I used a 3000 PSI @ 2.8GPM Machine from Home Depot. And honestly still sometimes use it for very small jobs. Back then, I did a 2 story house worth about $300 in appx. 2 1/2 - 3 hours X-Jetting. That included Set-Up and Tear-Down (I didn't have a trailer, had to put the PW, waterhose, etc. etc. in the back of the SUV). So yes, it does work. But now that I moved on to a bigger machine ... im def loving it. As far as GPM and rinsing go. Def. having a small 2.7GPM sucked. I spent about 2 minutes applying chemical to 1 side of the house, and about 20-30 minutes rinsing ... lol.

Not much to do when it's windy and raining :D The couple phone calls I make in a day usually don't take more than 30-60 minutes.

So I sold MGS4 and GTA4, im solely playing madden 09 now :P

Im coming back to this topic now because I stumbled upon it and talked with Phillip Cain about it at the MB RT. I called every pool company in my imediate area looking for Liquid Chlorine. Nobody has it. Only the little tablets "pool shock" or whatever the heck its called. How ever I did find a place (Univar) that sells 12% @ $3.95 / gallon if I get 15 gallons, or at $2.50 / gallon if I get 53 gallons. So Ill be getting it from Univar from now on.

What about if the chems dry? Im always to scared to let anything dry on any surface.

I have one lined up. But it doesn't help with all this rain here lately

Scrub, Scrub, and scrubbed some more with a butyl based degreaser. Boy did that one suck. Just glad I didnt do it, gotta love employees :D It did eat a hole in the pocket though with the rent of a lift and all the labor. So, we will not do Hardie Plank again. :) My instance was probably one out of a hundred or thousand, but that sure did scare me enough not to touch it again.

Yupp, that was my nightmare. In the end the result was improper installation of the Hardi Plank, which resulted in cracks in the siding itself (which you could barely see with the naked eye). The bleach solution (about 1-2% bleach was used) ended up staining away the red color of the weather wrap behind the siding, causing red color to stain all over the side. I personally will never touch Hardi Plank again, but many on here have good experiences with it and do them regularly. Good luck to ya man! Oh, and if you're wondering what we were using, it was 1 gallon of 12%, 1 gallon of QWIC Allbrite, and 3 gallons of water and X-Jet'ted

I need help. and lots of it.

Yea I got the job. But only the fence, he decided not to go with the deck. Anyways, since this will be my first fence, I charged him $900. Now after reading all of this, im not all too confident that that will be enough, lol. Together the fence is about 1,351 sq. ft. 251 ft. long by 4 ft high, and then I added in the pickets. So it came out to a little over 1300 sq. ft. and I charged $900. Now i feel like I just kicked myself though. :O -

It was only like this in some places. Plus he did it and its uneven all across the deck. -

Thanks guys, I got the estimate out. Depending on how this project will go if I get it, I might get into wood restoration some more ;) Thanks for the tips! MudDuck: Im not sure yet, my fence is the same, and has the same light green discoloring, Ill test on my fence to figure out if I could do a simple wash, or need some HD80. Thank you very much!
