I dont 2 step I brush. The trucks I was washing at the time, mabey 2 stepping would work on 1 account only. Some truck you just have to scrub. Also i see it as more work to have to rinse a truck more than one time, to get the dirt off. then chems= more cost, less profit. Water is also an issure. I would fill up my tanks and wash. the less water used the less downtime filling up= more money. I still dont see the need to 2 step, other than alum. brightning. 2 guys scrubbing and one on gun is faster to me. But again Im a scrubbing machine

Wheel kit for General Pump Surface Cleaner
Joe Ortiz replied to al9226's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I drilled holes in my HH with self taping screws and no cracks. you will have to change the handle as well so its fixed and wont move up and down. -
pop a new brick in there and be done with it.

just get a 12v pump from lori @PWP and some poly hose and stop putting chems on your back.

sounds like the homeowner thought he was a PWer and did the streaking himself. you should always point out things like this and take pics for you records. you might end up getting blamed for it

Take it to a tech. a pro should give it an overview before you start to youse it,as someone may end up getting hurt or dead. just M. O. good luck

No easy start valve, or by pass, I have the same problem on my hotsy. But i will be replacing the unloader to a newer style. with a bypass hose

Sears, Craftsman hose is the best i have ever bought. 75' for $40 bucks. if it breaks or a car runs the fittings over ect. they will give you a new one no questions asked. Mine get driven over from time to time but they also have nickle ends in stead of brass.

What would **** me off more than the truck would be cleaning the trailer Russ. Good luck with the truck

Get a longer wand -
How much do you want to make, is what you should be asking your self. How long will it take you,and what will it cost for chems, and how much your time is worth. The priceing thing is up to you only. hit the "search"option for more info

were those coils salvageable? It is a shame that they would throw them away like that. they could have given one to people that cant find a job and are on welfare to clean parts of the highway, courthouses, etc. or even help them start a bizz. "Give a man a fish he'll eat for a day,Teach him how to PW, he will eat till his PW breakes down"

I say its rude for you to wast their time with your phone calls. If you know youre gonna meet up with a client put the phone on vibrate, and focus on closing the deal instead of worring what u should do.

Thinking of upgrading to a hotwater skid. Question on supply water
Joe Ortiz replied to coachcollins42's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
to run 6-8gpm you will need a float tank/buffer tank to keep the pump from starving for water.if you dont have room Id go with a 65 gal. I have an 8gpm and most commercial spigotts cant keep up If i dont fill the tank 3/4 of the way, I will have to stop and refill to finish the job. the advantage of having a big tank is you can do jobs where there is no water hookup, or get to the next location with water and start to work without having to fill up. for 325 gals it will take me 1.5hrs tops to fill up. thats wasted time -
Hot water skid direction
Joe Ortiz replied to map_911's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
how many gal is the tank and what will weigh more? are you going to be towing a full tank all the time? How many gal in chems do you cary onboard? I take all this into account when building a trailer. the plumbing can be run no matter where on the trailer. but the placement of the tank n skid will make a huge difference in the way it tows. you want to try to balance it out and have at least 15% of weight on tounge. too much weight on the back and it will fishtail. -
I would build my hotel in mexico. Surf all day long then drink a beer and thank god for what he has given me. You'll never hear from me after that.

Adrian, when you started PWing did you use it as an outlet?to get a way from music? When you use somthing as an outlet too long you get burnedout. I get burnned out when i have to work sevral nights in a row and b!tch and complain at why did i start this bizz. then the check comes in and i remember why. But this year i am trying somthing new in the PW bizz.( My bizz) you may be bored with the type of work your doing. there are lots of other areas in pressure washing you can get into that would feel like "a newthing" to keep the flame burnin. good luck in you choice.

I feel your pain buddy. I just got off yesterday from an 8 day 12-14hr nights straight working alone. that and a 8 day long coffee drinking binge.all with only 3-4 hrs sleep in the day.

Safety: Once you go over 240 degreesF...
Joe Ortiz replied to Jerry's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Good info Jerry, as always thanks for offering to help us. We depend on the guys selling us the PWs to make sure we are good. but from what ive seen on the net they are selling machines cheaper and cutting out critical life saving parts to sell them at a lower price. Ive done a search on most boards and there is one brand that has had the most issues. -
