Thinking of a new profession
Joe Ortiz replied to netspider's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I would say take lots of pics from all angles and start your portfolio. times r tuff right now and in my area not too many people r interisted on how there ext. house looks. so get a good 4-5gpm PW some sanders, sprayers, ladders, hoses, chems, insurance, marketing materials, and clients. I almost bought the same PW starting out and these guys told me the same thing. my phone was ringing off the hook the first month or two then no work for 1mo. straight. it will be a rollercoaster ride of work. but it all gets better. remember "only the hacks quit when it gets tough" good luck to you buddy -
We will Start Stenciling everything in sept
Joe Ortiz replied to Ron Musgraves's question in The Club House
hows it going? hope you make the news (in a good way) that would be big when people wake up go to work they will see the stamp and Bamm. hook line and sinker$$$$$$$$$ -
No offence, but here in my area the landscapers are dipping into the PW market and making a mess. they should stick to grass. but if you do your homework and kill the search link. you wil learn alot on the proper cleaning methods. you will need to invest in a new PW with hot water and a SC plus learn about chems. afterall you dont want people saying, that guy from ...X....company's work sucks. they are hacks.good luck with it buddy.

Look at my rig drawings and tell me what Im missing!
Joe Ortiz replied to zhamilton89's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I would re-think that rig setup. skid over front axle, then tank on rear axle for sure.but like Chris said dont go over the recomended trailer weight. you could case serious damage if a weld breaks. -
Belt Sander
Joe Ortiz replied to bigchaz's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Question: When you use a circular disk sander on a deck of fine wood, does it leave swirl marks? I have a spa out back and i think its a 7 person and need to be redone the same color as the fence along with the deck. -

Quick vent on hp ball valves
Joe Ortiz replied to jnoden's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I bought one ofem from bob and the damn thing leaked hot water all over my right leg and i got PO'ed took the damn thing and thew it across the parking lot. that was supposed to be the best one for the money. it was leaking from the top where the valve was. has anyone else had this problem? -
From my understanding if he re-worded it and its still getting the same message across theres not much you can do without it getting very expensive. as long as he re-worded its not the same. someone stole some pics from another bizz. i used to own. and used them on there website with the wordding a lil diff. and was making money off of them on ebay and i called him he said that he came up with the wording and he crafted the object him self but you could see my signature on the wood. lawyer said there was nothing i could do but get him to remove the pics. he photo shoped them and erased my signature. he was legal. good luck

What Is Everyone Doing For Easter ?
Joe Ortiz replied to Apple Roof Cleaning's question in The Club House
Surfin (dawnpatoll), then weekly contract washing trucks, then easter with fam at about 3pm. -
NO! you never put chems through the pump! the chemical injector goes on after the coil before the PW hose. then you stick the end with the strainer in the bucket with your chems. it then will draw chems by suction.
-
I have two screen filters before the pump and have never had any problems.but one time my helper put the SC down gun first and got dirt in there and cloggen a tip. it was a PITA to remove, then clean and reset. so it might help but i wont use them IMOya dont needem
