first to vote, yes i had a formal plan. My plan has altered some. I started including property purchase for retirement about 7 years back. I kept going to conventions for food places and kept hearing we are not just in the food service we are in realestate investment company. My eyes opened wide

Ron Musgraves replied to Mike's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I really love hannay, I have found that they are durable. some guys love other and i have tried real quick, cox and a few other brands over the years. steel eagle is one i do not like. if your in the north they might work. The poly parts dont hold up in this arizona heat.:lolsign: -
I have one tip, becasreful of painted anything. they use water based indoor paint to save dollars. if you two step this your have a mess on your hands. do a search I have written extensive cleaning process, I talk about the gas pump safety also. you can also pick up the phone. You may do a search on *** also. PWN i have some threads about this AKA Ron Marshal Water recovery Depends on the class Dry well and the CWA standards of building code and Local enforcement.

Ken, I'm alway interested in hearing more, feel free to call me. always want to make more and do less. do you charge a trip charge? how do you handle that. I believe that was what Jeff was asking.
-
Jon Chapman, I think i would sub the distant locations, I dont think you'll be able to compete with local PW.
-
My stuff is all contract and has already been added. I suppose if you do one timers you might need to charge for long distance.

oil....and tire marks
Ron Musgraves replied to sflasealcoating's question in Residential Pressure Washing
you answered your own questions, i burn them off. heat low pressure or high if i can. any chemical caustic based will work. the only time you should need chemical and not a cautic based is when they have actually sealed the rubber under the sealent. I will usally pass on getting these up, because if you dont use more cure the concrete will age where you have pressure cleaned and this if damaged that is not reversable. -
oil....and tire marks
Ron Musgraves replied to sflasealcoating's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Tires marks are easy, when the cure or sealent is sprayed over them its very tough. -
I have five crews that run all day. your right 20% is in the day and the rest at night. I do have freinds that just service resorts and they only work fours days. they cant even start until 9:00am. and on thursdays they cut out at 2:00pm

Help with starting out question
Ron Musgraves replied to Diek's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Scott, My attitude is much different than most here. you can build a very profitable business all year round. i have no season and frankly if i had i would not be in this business. You mentioned fleets, you think the wait till summer to wash those trucks? No they often wash more and safety equipment needs to be cleaned or they will be sited by HWY patrols and at weigh stations across america. Flatwork can be done above frezzing temperatures. interior work such as kitchens and parking structures need cleaning. the pressure washing list is enormous. hundreds and maybe even thousands of avenues. Start!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just do it Scott... call me if you need too -
I would have to consider all life endevors and experience. some learn faster than others.
-
so i would assume that last sentence rules not carrying any? unless we are just talking about transporting gas and carryig our pressure washers in another vehicle. LOL Great info,
-
I was not saying its not legal. its stupid to fuel and use fuel in any inclosed area. especially with electric and heat. even with good ventalation its wrong. Maybe myself or Johnny might be careful but i know hes going to put that truck in someone elses hands. OPPPPPSSSSSSSS BOOMMMMMMM
-
all depend on the project. i use what ever works best.
-
John, I had a friend and competitor killed pouring gas over a hot motor. all my equipment fuels external or custom tanks away from sparks or heat,
-
its stupid, diesels ok. gasoline is a huge problem. you should install a external fueling from the outside. if the tanks are enclosed and your truck has proper venting and you dont open the containers inside or run the equipment while the tanks are stored then your ok. build a exteranl hold outside the truck.
-
doesnt your washer have a fuel pump? gasoline is gravity. your probably better off getting a custom tank made, 150 to 350 for about 50 gallons. ussally includes the pump if needed. you can easily hook that tank to your truck also for more fuel .

Dirty water
Ron Musgraves replied to First Impressions's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Are you running open, no wand or surface cleaner when you first start up? everyone on the planet has this problem, you should always clear the coil out before using when your machines sits over night. you can also descale the coil, ask your dealer for the descale chemical and its very simple to do yourself. most techs charge around 50.00 to 80.00 if you dont want to try this yourself. six months seem short but maybe you have not been cooling her down before shutting off? -
Thats why i cant stand one time jobs, I thank the presure washing gods that i have a 365 day a year scedule full.
