  1. weep holes troubles

I hate to ask but what are the 0010, 0040 tips that are talked about, maybe these would help me as right now the only tool i really have is a X-Jet M5. I have the 4 tips that came with the washer but i can only assume these are not what your talking about, and also how do you know that your using only 1500 psi, I have no adjustment on my machine, do you just go by the distance from the surface and just guess the pressure. I know, i have alot to learn, I can say i have from this, i didnt think my embarrasing questions would turn into 4 pages of very informative reading. thanks to all
  2. weep holes troubles

Wow, i am glad i asked the question. Our soap wasnt doing what was needed so we brushed the entire house, now i dont feel so bad. This thread has given us alot of insight, i want to thank you all for the discussion. The only thing i will not do is spray from a ladder regardless of pressure, i would have to go with the extension wands.
  3. weep holes troubles

Thanks for the tip Jeff, The only thing i am bothered about is the fact that the house had alot of bugs and crap on it and he is one of the customers that says, and i quote " When sparkle wash did it it looked like new, and jesse i am not Sh*&%ing you. The other tought part about this guy is he thinks everything is going to look like new, on all three things i washed he said that they looked like new last time. I know these have not been maintained for atleast 5 years, one surface was painted concrete, If we can make everything look like new then painters, siders, roofers....ect would have no place for work, and this is my firts customer so i also wonder if i didnt do enough homework before i started. I have the right equipment and have been reading these boards for atleast 4 months now and i was confident i could do it. Frustration, but i am not giving up, some people are just unpleasable.
  4. My shipment of chems didnt make it in time for my job tomorrow so i went to northern tool and got there Tuff Task deck cleaner. I dont have pics of the deck but it is just the normal minor dirt and mildew, does anyone know if this stuff will work. Any other options would be greatly appreciated.
  5. deck cleaning

Thanks for all the info, I know most of the bleach problems, from what i gather you just can not let it dry. I wont use that anyway. The stuff i have is a actually a pre carb based cleaner, so i hope it works well. I tried it on a peice of wood here and just rinsed with the hose and it cleaned it off pretty well. If this does not work I will just go back next week with Safewash and do it. Thank you for all the input.
  6. Please Help

I have to do my first job tomorrow and i cant figure out my ratio. I have 5gpm and a downstream injector that draws 1/2 gallon per minute. If i draw straight chems it would be 10:1 if i am not mistaken. Now here is my question, What do i mix my concentate at to acheive roughly 75:1. I have read and searched on here and have got a lot of good info but i can not figure this out for the life of me. Please help me. Thank you all in advance
  7. Please Help

WOW, thank your for the help. I was trying to figure this out and was about to mix my stuff at 65:1 so it would come out at 75:1 but i guess i was off by a hair....lol. I will be mixing in 5 gallon pails so i can atleast get it close. The supplier recommends 50:1 for real dirty trucks and 100:1 for a light wash. These trucks are new so i figure 75:1 will do. Thank you so much

  9. contract forms

I am new to the business. Do you all use carbonless copies for bids to avoid not getting paid. Right now i do not have any forms but planned on just invoicing my customers. if there is no signed agreement am i asking for trouble. I buy and remodel houses as a side gig and most of my work i hire out is given to me in the form of a computer printout with no signed copies of the price and the break down of what each portion cost. Do i need to have a signed paper for power washing thank you in advance
  10. do you always have to back a second day to seal a deck. I know the target is 12% moisture in the wood. After washing and brightening is it common to seal in the same day. I understand alot depends on weather and so on. I am just trying to figure out how to avoid going to a job sight 2 times only for the fact that i live out in the boonies, 45 miles to the nearest city. thank you for any input.
  11. contract forms

I do have 1,000,000 in coverage. Do your contracts have copies so the customer can have one or do they just sign and you keep the contract? I imagine having copies is preffered and i will someday get them but i am trying to get going. thank you
