  2. Help my daughter with this

I know you guys/gals have better things to do, but I thought this would be the best place to try and get every state. Please reply if your game. Thanks My name is Kyra Benson, I attend Colfax Elementary School and am in kindergarten. We are beginning a postcard-collecting project in my class. And I need your help. Our class would like people like you to send us postcards from the various states in our country. We plan to display these cards on a big United States map on a bulletin board in our room. In addition, we will be graphing, sorting, and counting how many postcards we receive by the end of Easter Vacation. Please ask your own neighbors or friends to help us out as will. We thank you for any help you can give us. The address for our project is as follows: KC Kindergarten Colfax Elementary School 601 University Av. Colfax, Wi 54730 P.S. Please put my name on it so I know which ones are mine. Sincerely, Kyra Benson
  3. Help my daughter with this

Even if you want to send one from WI, thats fine too. Last year the teachers class got 400 postcards and they are trying to beat that. Thanks Jeff for helping out.
  4. Can anyone solve this?

If I can find the answer to this puzzle I will get 5 extra bonus points on my Chemistry exam. The professor said the answer is not 1. Do you guys have any idea. My freshman class in college was over a 1000 students; in fact it was 1058. And half of them were smart enough to advance beyond first-semester calculus. So that whole group of kids was then allowed to enroll in Calculus 2. Each of those sections of advanced calculus had the same number of students. How many sections were there? Seems like not enough information, right? But there is.
  5. Can anyone solve this?

It doesnt, but chemistry professors tend to be a little weird.
  6. What Makes 100%?

The sad thing is that that formula holds true. Atleast in my experience in the military, the A@& kisser and the BS'er were always ahead. LUCKILY for me i am neither. To get 100% or better you have to give a little somthing extra, and that is where that all comes into play. lies and deciet get you above 100% and nothing is 100% efficient. So i am happing with 98%
  7. Leaking Pump

I would bet that your pump needs to be repacked (seals). I went through this last week. About every 150 hours the seals will go out. If you dont already have your unloader plumbed back to the tank, you will want to do so. If it is not, the water in the pump gets hot when in bypass, heating up your plungers and when you pull the trigger again you let in a bunch of cold water, which is hard on the plungers. Just like putting an ice cube in water. If the plungers are cracked, replace with porcelin ones, if they are not already. Hope this helps. Feel free to call
  8. PW problems

One of the mechanics here (21 years experience) was telling me when the pump seals are going out it can have troubles pulling from a tank but will work with forced water, ie...hose bib. Just like stated above
  9. Honest debate Iraq

My opinion, Whatever Bush used to justify us going there to get saddam or the war on terrorism or whatever, saddam had to go, he wasnt contained. The amount of money we would spend to monitor Saddams air space and all his military is not cheap. That is not being contained, that is babysitting. You dont have to babysit if there is no baby. Anybody ever see the aircraft that we recovered that were burried underground covered in plastic? Whatever the reason, it was required. I was in the military for afghanistan (however you spell it) and Iraq both. Our planes were first in both places dropping a hair over 80% of all gps guided bombs. So I am a little bias to the situation. As far as the media, I sat on my couch with my wife and watched the planes that i was with take off to go to the desert on the news. We didnt leave until weeks later. Believe what the news says and your end up with good discussion. Anyway, sorry for ranting but this is a hell of a discussion for me and many others.
  10. What do you use

What kind of pump do you use for applying acids. I have a shurflo pump set up. I ran saferestore through it and it didnt affect the pump but the wand does not seem to like it. I have a job that i will need to apply muratic acid. will my set up work for this stuff with a better wand. What does everybody use?
  11. What do you use

I cant use Xjet, I need to etch a oil change pit, so i cant get overspray on the shop floor. I might try the ball valve idea. Or just get a phelps wand. Thanks guys
  12. Oh Boy, I need help!!

It is hard to explain but in SOME case screens are easy to replace. Some have a rubber strip that presses down into a groove to hold the screen in. You simply pull the strip out and the old screen is removed. Go to a home store and get the proper size screen on a roll, cut the screen a little big and push the rubber strip back in pinching the screen in place, also stretch the screen best you can. Very inexpensive. Hope this helps.
  13. Thanks for the help matt, I will check out your site. I dont have any recovery equipment yet so maybe i will definately pass. I will read up on the issue and talk to a remediation company to see if they can help with any liability issues. Thanks again matt.
  14. I think i may pass on this. I do have liability insurance but not sure if it covers work inside like ken had stated. I am going to go look at it and explain to them that there is to much liability involved. Thank your for looking out for my best inerest everybody. I am glad to have a place like this to come to for advice. Thanks Ken and everybody on here, and thanks Beth and Rod for the site.
  15. I told the lady that they will need to run dehumidifiers after and get the basement completly dry. There is no drywall or anything. I am sorry to keep pushing it ken. But if i go in and do as i said, the mold does come back, what is my liability. If you wash a driveway and mold comes back a year later, is that any different. I know how this reads, please understand i cant put face to face expression or tone to it. this is all in a manor to understand, not question. Thanks Ken.
  16. What damage would this cause Ken in comparison to doing exterior stone or concrete. I am not questioning you, just not sure why i shouldnt. Thanks for the warning.
  17. Big window job

I have an opportunity to bid on a commercial window cleaning job. I was looking for a little help on pricing. I know, the dreaded pricing post. 6 Full length doors 48 ground level 30"x30" paynes 4 30"x72" ground level paynes 348 30"x30" paynes starting at 20' going up to 35' A lift will be used, the ends of the building are like an airplane hanger, arched, and the whole top is glass so all 348 windows are touching except for the 2" aluminum frame between. Lots of spider webs. Any help would be great. Call, or email if you dont want your pricing on here. Cell# 1-715-308-4941 Home is listed below Thank your for your help I am in the process of washing the building now if you would recommend a multi job discount. Plus, my dad works their so i have a little favortism, but that will not affect pricing.
  18. Big window job

The roof line is arched, I had planned on using a lift, the manager agreed. As far as price i was thinking $4 per payne but may reconsider due to the fact he wants all the aluminum frame work wiped down also. I will only be bidding on the outside. I am not a window cleaner but he just asked me if i did windows when i met with him to bid the building wash, and I couldnt see turning it down. Thanks Jim and Don, i atleast have a starting point now. I will let you know how it goes.
  19. hydroflouric & hydrocloric acids

Yes, hydrocloric acid aka muriatic - The Saferestore is an awesome product with the addition of another number of ingredients......GS Restoration is another of theirs that we have used with great results! I think the biggest difference in the two is that Saferestore has an algaecide in it. For new brick construction, we have become "died in the wool" NMD80 users. We have tried others and NMD80 out performed by a mile for us Celeste, what do you add to Saferestore to make it more effective. I just bought 30 gallons of it and would like it to be most effective for what it cost. Thanks for any input.
  20. Mildew Free Vinyl Siding

Read the small print, I would be willing to bet there is something about keeping it clean or something like that. Everything is limited warranty now days and ALMOST everything is used as a marketing tool. BS to me
  21. if you......you might be a pressure washer

If you analyze dirt, grime, and the types while keeping dwell time and # of applications in mind while taking a shower after a long days work you might be..........
  22. Before Hiring Immigrants read This NOW......

They cause more problems than they do good. Get rid of the illigal ones and keep the ligitimate ones under the microscope. I had a lot of first hand experience with this group in idaho. Rude, crude and had no concern for other people and keeping a nice town nice. I watched a couple mexicans drag a guy outside of a bar, beat him uncouncious, left him in a pool of blood and walked off laughing. Minutes before that i went to the bathroom and the same guys were in there and told me that i was a minority in there, being in the military and an american i disagreed, they laughed and that is when they drug that kid outside. Needless to say, they got theirs, and they ended up in jail. Makes me mad thinking about it. This was the first incident that came to mind. I have many more..............
  23. Sales Tax

I just started washing garbage trucks and after sending a few invoices they told me today that i need to charge them sales tax for the washing. I know this can vary from state to state but is anybody else charging sales tax on any of their services? Paul, your in wisconsin, maybe you will see this and help me out.
  24. Any diabetics?

I am 27 and went and got checked because i was having abdominal pain. I did some research on the net and came to believe it was my appendix as my lower right abdomen hurt really bad. I went in and ran some blood samples and the doc came back and ask about family history with diabetis. We have none. Long story short.........I was drinking about 2 16 oz. Rockstar energy drinks a day, if not more. All the caffine and sugar overloaded my pancreas ( I think that is the part that deals with sugar) and my body was rejecting all the sugar and caffine and it was just building up. My blood sugar was at 198 and they diagnose Diabetis at 200. So i quit drinking them and everything went back to normal. Caffine interferes with your bodies ability to process sugar. So if you drink alot of coffee and soda or carbs and the list goes on it can cause problems. From what i know and read, and from experience, you can give yourself diabetis or atleast aid it along. This is all i know.
  25. going full time

I just started a decent size fleet job and cant keep up working full time but yet it is not quite big enough. It is enough to put food on the table. I am quitting my job tomorrow (2 week notice) to do pressure washing full time. I have a few jobs to do. Actually 3 of the 4 jobs i have lined up are not pressure washing. 1 siding job for a lady i did her deck, buff the trucks that i wash and change all the stickers on the ONYX dumpsters as they have a new name now. Anyway, I have come to realize that my best bet would be direct mailing, how many would you recommend to send out and what would you target this late in the year. I was thinking gutter cleaning and ............not sure what else. I have a big window job i am working on and have a good chance to get. What advice do you have. I am nervous but my wife says go for it (she is the most positive supporing person). Thanks for any replies
